Question about Ricoh Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Savin 3515 MF - when printing - Intermittently but often it prints where you can see shadow print from some other item that has printed before it. I keep going in and cleaning the roller (just wiping it off) and that seems to keep it ok for a while. We just had all the rollers replaced and the photoelectric unit replaced about 3 months ago.

There are only 2 possibilities with this problem. 1 is the PCU or Photoconductor Unit. I am guessing that this is what you had replaced 3 months ago? If so you may have to have the dealer replace it under warranty. The other possibility is the fuser unit and fuser rollers. I would not suspect these as much because if the fuser rollers get bad enough to start double imaging then they will usually do it every copy, not occaisionally.
The hardest part of your issue is in the fact that it is intermittently happening. If it were every copy/print then I would suggest shutting the machine off while in the middle of the copying process so you counld see if the double imaging was there before the page went thru the fuser. If it were then that would prove the PCU was at fault. Since this does not happen all the time, that troubleshooting technique is of little to no use.
When you say cleaning the roller are you taking about the drum? The Greenish/Blue colored "cylinder" that you see after opening the right side door? That cylinder or drum should always be clean as it is cleaned by the drum cleaning blade after each copy is produced. If you are having to clean it manually then I would suspect even more that the PCU is bad. If this is the case then I would really complain to the dealer that installed it. Also if you have the service order when it was replaced that should give you the page count when it was installed. Check that against the current count. The PCU is suppose to last at least 45,000 pages.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Printer error 3515

Kodak ESP-5 error message 3515....tried Kodak way but didn't work....could hear the print head attempt to move but couldn't...unplugged unit from power....opened to expose the print cartridges...removed small screws on sides and back of printer...gently pry open top....turn gears on right side with finger toward front several turns.....check and see if print head will now move to center....(I removed cartridges and print head so I could see the blotter under print head move to back position. Re-installed print head and cartridges.) plugged power cord back in and turned on...unit cycled and then screen showed normal....replaced screws in top panel.....printed test page...back in operation......Don't be heavy handed....plastic will break very easy I think when opening panel if not careful...

I have a Savin 9400 copy machine. It will not print 2 sided copies. Everytime I try to print a 2 sided copy, it jams after it prints the first side and before it prints the second side.

Savin 2513F, prints PDF files intermittently

I'd try a different driver, if your using RPCS, change to PCL5. You may have to upgrade the firmware in the copier too.

What you have to do is go to file| print| then click pages _ to_ and type pages 1 to 1 then print, then place the printed pice of paper back in the printer tray. then type print pages 2 to 2
if this is not what you mean then File| print| click properties next to your printer name. Then click advanced and enable 2 sided printing

Savin 8045e copier

That depends on what you are printing.
Any time you read stats about page count, it is usually based on 30% coverage of the page.
Depending on what you are printing, it can be more or less.

Estimated yield is 30,000 pages for a standard cartridge.
Using an aftermarket (refill) cartridge can vary greatly.
And as mentioned, it really depends on what you are printing.
