Door Lock I just received my new frigidaire affinity washer and dryer yesterday. I already broke it. The door lock won't come on so I can't start the washer. I had opened it to throw another item in and now it won't continue.

Replace the door lock, takes about 10 mins. Just replaced mine. Ordered it from Amazon for less than 40.00. You take the top off and unscrew the lock from the front. Reach in and pull up, unplug old one, plug in new one. put new one back in the holes, screw it in tight. Put the top back on and your done. Don't forget to unplug it before you start.

I see that you are still having trouble with your Frigidaire Affinity washer, model# ATF7000E, finishing and now starting a load, even after replacing the door lock.

I would start by making sure that your washer door is completely closed.

Next I would check to make sure that your washer controls are not locked. You will see a "LOC" code if the controls are locked. To get them out of the lock mode, press and hold the "Options" and "Select" buttons at the same time for 10 seconds.

If you are still having trouble you will want to give your washer a hard reset. You can do this by either unplugging it or cutting the power at the circuit breaker for 2-3 minutes.

Once power is restored, if you are still having trouble with your appliance either not starting or not completing the cycle, I would recommend contacting either the manufacturer or your local authorized technician. Hope this helps.

Hello zabbster - Typically the DR or DO error code indicates that the door switch is not closed. Make sure that the door lock is completely closed. If the door is closed, make sure the door latch is not broken. If the latch is broken, you may possibly need to replace the door lock switch.

I would bet you need new door lock switch

mybe the star button stay stuck and the dryer tinks some one is puching the star button and it will continio to run. try to open the door and it will stop and then clouse the door if the dryer star whitout pushing the star then you now the star switch is stuck. goo lock

Disconnect power then open the door and remove the spring-hoop assembly that secures the door gasket. Peel off the part of the door gasket near the door lock and switch assembly. Remove the screws securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel then pull the door lock and switch assembly out. Transfer the wires to the new door lock and switch assembly then install into place. Put the door gasket back and secure it with the spring-hoop assembly. Try holding the 'options' & 'select' buttons together till the door lock button comes on. This is the child lock function. You can do it again for the lock to come off. Hold down for over 3 seconds

If the washer fills with water, but will not start the wash cycle or spin, it is 1 of to things. the most common for frigidaire front load affinitys is the door lock assembly. I have had to replace numerous of these. if the door lock indicator is not on when it tries to wash, you need to replace the door lock assembly. if the door lock indicator is on, but wont wash, it is likly that you have a bad motor control board.
