I have yamaha f60 cet efi 2005 .1200hours of engine use came on while driving alarm came on at same second ,started stalling, knocking like fuel pump does ,will start but knocks and have alarm if rev more than idle.did this engine have run computer program to the end at 1200 hours or something else like that ,started to have problems after timing belt change.

first time error means your internal batery is feilure you have change the batery for programs you have to set the programs acces default goto control panel , taskbar and start menu and select the way you want to use your start up programs

Check all of your vacume lines. If it isn't a vacume line it is most likely the O2 sensor.

with the engine running lift hood and lisen for a vacum leak and check all your vacum lines. if no vacum leak can be found then replace the idle air control valve.

Hi! You must be frustrated by now! your code is marking that the O2 sensor is bad in bank 1. Did you replace the O2 sensor that is located  before the catalytic converter?  The S10 has an O2 sensor specially made for that cat. its about 30$ That would explain for your blackened spark plugs; your pc on the car is asking for more fuel. GOOD LUCK!!

The processor is overheating causing auto shut down to prevent damage(further). Get the heat sink & if required apply fresh heat conducting paste between the processor & heatsink(if the fan is still working). Also the power supply inside the PC might not be delivering the correct voltage(3 different voltages), which will require relacement..................sodeep

You need to get some kind of scan tool that can read the data ouput of the efi system while driving on the hills that give you problems.The efi system probably has a spark knock sensor.Reading the data off of the sensor while driving will tell if the sensor is telling the engine ecm to adjust itself for low quality fuel.The engine ecm is programmed to dial back power if it detects spark knock.Running poor quality fuel will cost you many dollars more in the long run.A lean running condition (low fuel pressure,partialy plugged injectors,plugged fuel filter) will cause spark knock under load.Carbon deposits on the pistons(internal engine problems) will cause spark knock.The knock is caused by fuel igniting before the spark plug ignites it-The piston is trying to go back wards.Sometimes there will be a factory reflash for the ecm if many of the engines had the same problem.Try reading on some Jeep forums online.This is a problem for a good auto tech-not your average flat rate parts swaper.If the jeep has had many miles since some maintenance(filters & spark plugs) you might start there before laying out $ for diag.

Why does 1992 isuzu trooper runs for a few seconds then stalls and won't keep running? I've replaced the fuel pump,fuel pressure regulator,and fuel filter. Spark plugs and wires have been changed also

which engine, to work on one, you need to know what it is

and what EFI system it uses. or its all just a crap shoot.

no new distributor cap and rotor why skip the full tune up,. why?

first questions.

1: can you save the stall with a a fast right foot.

2: why change out pump etc, if fuel pressure is at spec, a $20 tool would have saved you 5 hours hard labor and bath in fuel? why?

Stalls 101.:

the engine can stall for over 50 reasons are you going to do all 50?

surely not. why not consider diagnosis.. as a path.

1: car stalls, right foot saves it. and can drive fast if i keep foot busy.

a: ISC stuck closed.

b: EGR valve stuck open (depends on which engine options)

c: low compression on one or more cylinders.

2: can\'t save it from stalling (right foot)

a: fuel pressure is low. (wires bad.)

b: lost spark, for any reasons.

c: lost 12vdc to the EFI system( killing spark and fueling)

hot restarts are easy and it runs good hot,yes./no.

there is lots more to it, then just stalls. lots more.

Hummer stalling while driving

Big engine needs a good strong drive belt. Belts stretch after time and just need replacing. I would start there first. Next if you notice any sputtering when it's about to stall then it may be a bad or clogged fuel filter.

My 93 geo storm will run for a couple seconds with engine start then quit, is there an anti theft switch under dash.??

Isuzu Impulse,
a very rare car. 70k made, 3k in Canada.
they hand 2 Isuzu engines, DOHC, 1.6 and 1.8L
is car a daily driver, when did it last run right?
is fuel fresh....
ever do a tuneup on it? spark parts, and filters.
can you keep engine running with a fast right foot, (a key answer)
the stock car drawings ,show no IMMO , nor any alarm.
but the operator guide can be had,......

the real question is why it stalls.
you crank it
it starts and stalls.
we do simple test to find this,
this car has very simple EFI so. is easy.
1: engine compression above 150PSI x4.
2: 12vdc running, if the voltage falls below 11vdc, running fix that first.
3: spark spark good at all cylinders, test it, get a tune up.
4: fueling, too much or too little and it stalls.
the fueling tests are a long story and ill wait till you get this far.

Why does my 1996 C1500 w/t keep stalling while driving...I changed the fuel filter, new battery, new fuel pump, new spark plugs..and 1 new spark plug wire that was bad.

why not all spark plug wires, they dont last the life of any engine.
and cap and rotor.
finish the full 60,000 tuneup and dont skip parts. is this hard?

stalls can be caused by many a thing the EFI works real hard to stop all stalls, and does so very well in 1996, (not now, due to throttle by wire BS)
96 cars are the best cars ever made, all of them.
it has OBD2 scan tool support. making it 10x easier to fix.
ever used a scan tool even a $9 fleabay tool works 100% on 19965 cars. Get one.

Now we do stalls. (engine size stated so will use generic answers)
  1. Lost 12vdc to the EFI system. (see scan tool go, NON COMM, at stall? and dash lights go dim or head lights go dim? ) easy this.
  2. EGR valve stuck open (if you have one) is #1 cause of EFI stalls.
  3. next is never doing a real 60k tuneup ever. so common we like to use crying towels. really. so sad to watch the pull gas tanks and pumps all for the lack of simple tuneup and simple tools.
  4. Gross Misfiring, any mech can drive the car and hear it and feel it.
  5. loss of fuel pressure. (bogs then stalls and no misfire shaking)
  6. Gross flooding. (many causes, we look for black spark plug tips. and other scan tool tests. (fuel trim )
  7. Ever scan it for DTCs at the stall?
  8. Ever scan it ever? for any DTCs ever? of any kind?
  9. serious engine problems, lost compression. (any cylinders or all)
there are tests for each one.
we do engine first
spark then fue
after a real 60k tuneup and it stalls. still.

no fuel can burn with no spark
no spark can run a bad engine.

Starts then dies when it is cold

stalls, i can list the 50 ways to stall any engine.but pass.
1: ever tune it up this decade? or the 60k mile service points?

the first tests is, can you save the stall , with a fast right foot.
2: old gas? is car a daily drive or old winter car, took out of moth balls?
3: if car is tuned. and fresh fuel, what is day starting outdoor temperature, 70F or -39F?
not posting country or better latitude. makes all posts near useless
the world is a big place.

This car has EFI, and ALL EFI , love to start cold, it is it's FORTE'
brilliantly designed fuel tables in the ECU.
so if it has good fuel, it must start, or there are engine problems.
(IAC not giving air, injectors leaking, flooding, too lean)
there are simple test to do after a tune up , to find each reason.
try new spark plugs.... gapped to Jeep spec.

You did not mention the EFI relay - it powers the computer.

1993 Yamaha GTS keeps blowing EFI fuse (10 Amps)

The EFI fuse, powers the ECU, the injector 12V feed, and the fuel pump. If it does it within a few seconds of trying to start the bike, it is the fuel pump. The bike has been stored for a while and the old fuel has gummed up the pump rotors, which stalls the pump and blows the fuse. If it is whilst it tries to run, then a short on the injector feeds or ECU wiring loom is not try a 20A fuse

My experience in this makes me think that you have a rusted fuel line, at the top of the tank. This is a common problem. I remove the tanks and replace the fuel tank fuel line/bracket assembly quite a bit.
