You need to configure the plasma as a second monitor (you can do that in Control Panel - Display) and then drage the window of the movie player to it. Don't forget to drag it back before closing it.

You need t have GigaPocket installed to use the TV Tuner. You should use the AV in sockets for audio and video. The Gigapoket software from Sony should allow you to select the Video to view the input Sony Giga Pocket 5 5 Update Utility
Or you could try VLC which should accept input from your video card.

I want to connect a projector but have not cl

Going by what I could find out about this computer, you would not be able to connect a projector to it. The only output ports are speaker and mic., the video is line in only. It did not say anything about an extra VGA port or video card expansion slots which is what you would need to connect an external device.

Can the graphics card on Sony pcv v1/g be upgraded

Are there any open sockets on the board? These would accomodate more video ram. If not, I'm afraid you may have to buy a new card. Are you replacing a card from the PCIe bus? If so, simply remove it and put in your new one. If you are working from onboard Video, you need to make sure of what kind of Video Bus you have, AGP ( older ) or PCIe.
Look in your manual for this information. All should be plug n play from here.

Video outputs

There are TV/Monitor hybrids out there. You could get a 60'' plasma widescreen and use it as your desktop monitor for example. But as far as watching 'streaming video' from like....HBO from your local cable provider, you will not be able to do it with this computer unless you purchase an add-on card (be sure you have the open PCI slot first).

You would need something like the cards listed in the url below (again, be sure your motherboard is compatable with it first).

Sony Tv PFM-42 V1 doesn't show any picture or tv menu

This is a common problem with plasma tvs You did not mention whether you could generate any sound like through your dvd player or something like that. Whether you have audio or not makes a difference on which board may be causing you the problem. Just because it does not have a picture for tv viewing does not mean it won't produce some type of sound through your av1 input. Try it and I'll try to be more specific.
