I often find the problem here to be the size of your PAGEFILE. Set you PAGE FILE to be 1.5 x your Memory size == 1024 *1.5 = 1536 Mb as a fixed size. Pleas ensure that the PAGE FILE is not fragmented and preferably not on the same drive as which you installed your OS.

make sure that your RAM and Cmos battery have dust free secure seatings

some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions SATA

the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

graphics card is seated properly with no dust in the socket you might have to remove it to check for dust

a computer needs power and data to travel through every working device and to its continue its cycle and to have and end to function

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure make sure the connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty
a computer needs all electric current and computer data to travel to and through every working device and have an end to work properly click start right click on my computer so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

I am using asus p5kpl-am se motherboard with c2d 2.93, 4gb ddr2 ram, 1gb zotac geforce 9800 series pci card with xp sp3 os. When i check properties from my computer the memory ram is showing only 3gb...

ASUS P5KPL-AM SE supports up to 4GB RAM. I think that 1GB RAM is shared with the PCI Express Graphic Card.

For further details about your CPU and Graphic processor, I suggest that you download two small free utilities

These usefull utilities will provide you all the additional details.

Nvidia 8500 GT video card with latest drivers Trying to play Janes WWII Fighters,,game plays for about 8 minutes but then locks up any ideas why? I have used the Nvidia control panel with various...

1 GB of ram? Check the software for minimum PC system requirements. It will say how many MHz is necessary to play the game.It will also give you what video card (min),RAM(min),DirectX (7 or Higher?) this game requires MINIMUM to run.Quite often the game will run,but poorly.Your AMD 2200 runs at 1800 which isn't lightening fast, but sufficient.I think the addition of at least 1 more GB of RAM is what you need,a total of 3GB would really make the computer happy when playing games.

Run this program from Microsoft to test your current memory for errors.
My computer is much like yours,I have XP Media-The 8600 card,a dual core 2.8 processor and 3GB of RAM.This setup will run a online racing game without hick ups at 1152 x 864 resolution. When I only had 1GB of RAM it would stutter like it was constantly trying to load the program,so I added another Gig and it started playing allot better. It couldn't keep up with Halo online until I added another 1GB for a total of 3GB.I am using a 32x version of XP,going to a 64x setup would improve performance even more.
Sorry,I'm talking too much.Try the RAM after you test what you have, you'll be glad you did!

Blue screen with 4gb, OK with 3gb of RAM on 6720s laptop Using windows 7 (32 bit) there are 2x slots, but the top slot seems only capable of recognising 1gb of RAM without giving the blue screen at startup...

A 32bit OS and Processor is able to Identify and work with upto 3GB of memory.
That may be the cause of the issue
Even if any computer has more then 3gb of ram it will showup only upto 3gb.
if you install 4gb or more then also it will not show up.

.........and second reason, may the ram that you are using are not identical or one of them is not working properly.
Check the specifications of the ram and also try using one a time.

Thanks and Regards
