Question about Panasonic NV-FJ620 VHS/S-VHS playback VCR
This is a real bad problem to solve. Unless your new video has been set up badly, there's little you can do. You see it's like this either your old machine was set up badly or your new one was! To get your new one to play back the old ones would require the aligniment to be reset to the old machine settings. However when you put a new machine previous recording in - that would now badly track. A new recording (made after the adjustment) played back would be ok though.
The only way you can tell if the new machine is set up right is by putting in a commercial film video tape. If that tracks badly it has been set up wrong.
I can say this however Panasonic VCR's have a reputation of being set up well and good at tracking videos. So if it can't track the old video tape it might be well out of alignment, especially if it is not a Pansonic model.
If the old machine is still working, it would be best to play it back and re-record with the new machine.
Otherwise you would have to carry out an alignment - play back the tape and re-align back to the correct setting.
