Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Intermittently but often it prints where you can see shadow print from some other item that has printed before it. I keep going in and cleaning the roller (just wiping it off) and that seems to keep it ok for a while. We just had all the rollers replaced and the photoelectric unit replaced about 3 months ago.

Please let me know the model and make of your machine or the brand name. It's not possible to help you without knowing these. It seems you've posted this question on a wrong category, i.e. Printer on Motherboard category.
Awaiting.
Thanks.

Honestly I have not much idea with Savin, but after referring the description of your problem, the problem should be with the drum and the cartridges. When a drum is bad or a cartridge is not working properly, the ink sprayed by the drum is left on the drum even after it's printed out and so the next print command will receive the left over of the first print. It's also possible that the waste ink tank on the drum is full or nearly filled up. Check the drum and if necessary, remove the waste toners (there's a compartment where wasted toners are accumulated so that it'll not spread out randomly on the papers when printing).

Another possibility is the Fuser Unit. When the fuser is dirty, it can't properly roll over the toner powder(sprayed on the paper by the cartridges and the drum) and will get the remaining toner powder stuck on it. In that case, pull out the fuser unit and clean it properly using a cotton or soft cloth. You'll need to disassemble the Unit.

There are the three possibilities and definitely one of them will be the culprit. If it's a roller problem, then you may get a zigzag printout or twisted texts, but not the duplicate images of the previously printed documents.

The best thing you have to do is cleaning, clean all the components from Drum to drum and from trays to Passage. You will definitely be able to find out the source of the issue and may also be necessary to replace the respective component/s.

If you need further help, let me know.

    Good luck.

    Thanks for using FixYa.

While taking a print or photocopy shadow is coming on the center of the paper

My printer printing shadow behind all the letters
f you are running the printer's Full Feature Software, go into the Solution Center in the Toolbox and look for a way to clean the cartridges and / or print heads. Do it twice. It uses a bit of ink, but it will get any extra residue drifting around on the nozzles.Your printer's Webpage:
HP Photosmart C4795 All-in-One Printer
Look on the Menu (on the Printer) for the Alignment test. This may also be listed in the same area in the software section where you find the "clean cartridges" option.
General Instructions (may vary):
Align the print cartridges

The printer automatically aligns the print cartridges after a new print
cartridge is installed.

You can also align the print cartridges at other times to ensure optimal
print quality.

To align print cartridges:

1. Load Letter or A4 plain, white paper in the In tray.
2. Open the printer Toolbox.
3. Click Align the Print Cartridges.
4. Click Align, and then follow the onscreen instructions.

I have canon lbp 2900 printer when i print first line shadow is also printed in the middle of page and middle line shadow is also is printed in the last of page. and some of line shadow is also printed.

Repetitive ghosting defects like this are caused by either a bad drum in the cartridge or a damaged or worn fuser assembly. Try a different cartridge first, but make sure you print at least 50 pages to make sure that any toner residue is cleaned of the fuser in the printing process. If the defect is still there then you will need to either repair or replace the fuser.

When printing a new page I get a "shadow like"

Hi,

Clean the print heads by performing a head cleaning followed by printing a nozzle check pattern. A head cleaning and nozzle check must be performed as a cycle. After printing a nozzle check, examine the printed dot pattern. Each staggered horizontal and straight vertical line should be complete, with no gaps in the dot pattern. If there are gaps in the dot pattern, continue with another cycle. Performing up to 6 cleaning cycles is not uncommon if the print heads are severly clogged.

Hope this helps.

There are only 2 possibilities with this problem. 1 is the PCU or Photoconductor Unit. I am guessing that this is what you had replaced 3 months ago? If so you may have to have the dealer replace it under warranty. The other possibility is the fuser unit and fuser rollers. I would not suspect these as much because if the fuser rollers get bad enough to start double imaging then they will usually do it every copy, not occaisionally.
The hardest part of your issue is in the fact that it is intermittently happening. If it were every copy/print then I would suggest shutting the machine off while in the middle of the copying process so you counld see if the double imaging was there before the page went thru the fuser. If it were then that would prove the PCU was at fault. Since this does not happen all the time, that troubleshooting technique is of little to no use.
When you say cleaning the roller are you taking about the drum? The Greenish/Blue colored "cylinder" that you see after opening the right side door? That cylinder or drum should always be clean as it is cleaned by the drum cleaning blade after each copy is produced. If you are having to clean it manually then I would suspect even more that the PCU is bad. If this is the case then I would really complain to the dealer that installed it. Also if you have the service order when it was replaced that should give you the page count when it was installed. Check that against the current count. The PCU is suppose to last at least 45,000 pages.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

HP Printer problem

Sounds as though one of the drum cleaning blades is failing.

When you see the double image shadow, is it any particular color? If so, that's the drum unit that is failing.
