I am not sure which camera you are reffering but when you need to import still pictures you set the mode on the camera right(it should be instructed on the camera panel itself) and connet it via a working USB connecting cable and then the computer would treat you camera and the memory card as a mass storage device. Or if the images are in a memory card, plug it out and connect it through a card reader. You do not need a software for that. HAH it is different in case of a Video file. You would need a Studio Software like Power Director, Pinnicle Studio and so on.
