After connecting my new BD-C6900 keeps showing the messages: new device not found, usb1 power overload, at the lower left corner, even during playback

Thanks for the comment, but there is nothing connected to the USB port. In deed I connected and disconected a USB memory stick after I got the message to see if the error dessapeared, but no success. The only connections to the player are the component video out, the audio out, the network cable and power supply.

The player is new. SHould I open it and disconnect the USB port? Is that what you are suggesting?

  • Gustavo Castellano Sep 04, 2010

I recently bought a samsung blu-ray player, model BD-C6900 in the Netherlands and I live in Saudi Arabia. As soon as I connected it, 2 messages poped up on the bottom left corner: "new device not found" and "usb1 power overload". Although I had nothing connected to the usb port and was not connecting any other device, other than the following connections: component video and audio out, network cable out and power supply. No other connections made. Your previous expert had no better suggestion than sending it for warranty repair. I don't need an expert to tell me that. I know that is my option as the device is new. I want an expert to explain the reasons for the 2 messages and how to get the messages deleted from the screen. They show even when playing back. Also in connecting a pen drive to the USB port it works fine and it is recognized and content played.

  • Gustavo Castellano Sep 04, 2010

I feel like my comments are not being read. Do you mind? Solution number 2 had nothing to do with the issue.

  • Gustavo Castellano Sep 12, 2010

Thanks for your comments. I understand about the warranty voiding, but if I don't return to the place where I bought the device I cannot exercise the warranty. Can you give me that service access code?

Alos, I always mentioned that there are 2 messages and all the answers relate to only one message. What about the message "new device not found" How can I get rid of that one?

Your device is drawing too much current from the USB port, if using a Hub, then it MUST go either into a powered hub, or straight into the USB in the machine, no hub. If this is NOT the case the unit is faulty, or the PC is reporting a power surge.

There is a problem with the usb for this player. It is not anything with the player itself but it sounds like the USB has a short. There is not a way of fixing it without opening the unit and changing out the USB itself (voiding your new players warranty!)

I would recommend taking the player back and exchanging it for a new one to retain a warranty plus avoiding a similar problem that could come up again.

Let me know what route you want to go so I can help you out further. Keep in mind you can still play disc fine although you may have to enter service mode to turn off the onscreen display(possibly voiding the warranty)

even when there is nothing inside the USB port it will continue to feed power through it and this may be why it is giving you the error. Is there an option to set the USB off through the regular menu within the player??

I look all over and spoke with Repair pro. You will not be able to get that message off because it is a hardware problem message. He told me that It is not possible to force a customer to bring the unit back and/or search repair because further damage may happen.

The only way to fix it would either have a repair company fix it or buy the part,a soldering iron and some solder and work on it yourself.

I could help you either way, I will check for your reply to know how you want to repair this.

I almost forgot, I may be able to get the Tech. service code for this player. The only thing is that if you go in and try to reset the player(could maybe get rid of the messages, though not likely) It WILL void your warranty. There is not way around voiding it if you go into the service menu. When you go in the device keeps a log of it and there is no way of erasing it.

USB overload comes in two forms.

One is where the device is drawinf TOO much power from the computer it is connected to

The other is when it is getting power BACK from a device when it is not expecting it.

From what you say you got it in a different country from the one you are using it in.

I dont have the full spec in front of me so I would ask that you double check the following.

VOLTAGE 110, 120, 240 OR multi voltage capable

FREQUENCY 50 Hz 60 Hz or multi freqiency capable

Default vidieo output PAL, SECAM , NTSC or AUTO

Those specs fron the device MUST match the country of intended use if there are any mismatch you could be looking at a device that will most probably fail in some form from just simply not working to the worst case sceanrio of a fire.

If you can confirm for me that the specs do indeed match your country I may well be able to assist a little more.

The new device not found can be seen on some devices connected via HDMI but with a poor or bad cable.

I have an MVIX box and got a similar message which turned out to be the cable not quite pushed in all the way.

Many of todays devices can work out what is connected to it and adjust themselves accordingly to provide the best output

I have a blue ray player tht refused to display if I had more than one connection to the same TV it either wanted the HDMI or the component but NOT BOTH.

The message usb 1 power overload signals a short in or at the USB 1 connector - something that is plugged there is faulty. Take it out.

Something in that memory stick didn't went well with the player, it has fried the USB slot. Since is a new one then it's in warranty - take it back and let them fix it, you must not open it or you will lose the warranty.

  • Gustavo Castellano Sep 03, 2010

You are not reading my reply carefully. I inserted the USB after the message was already appearing. The message appeared as soon as I connected the DVD to the TV, way before I inserted the stick. There must be another reason. Thanks anyway for your comments. Regards,

You are not reading my reply carefully. I inserted the USB after the message was already appearing. The message appeared as soon as I connected the DVD to the TV, way before I inserted the stick. And also, the slot is working as the stick is recognized and files read. There must be another reason. Thanks anyway for your comments. Regards, Gustavo

Sorry for the repetition of replies, I was trying to edit the first one not to make it sound rude and got repeated. Sorry about that.

  • Azrael SRL Sep 03, 2010

No problem, i made the mistake, i didn't read the reply carefully. But as i said, if it's still in the warranty then just return it, let them fix it.

  • Gustavo Castellano Sep 03, 2010

The issue is that I bought the player in the Netherlands and live in Saudi Arabia, so it is not so easy to return it :-(

  • Azrael SRL Sep 03, 2010

Try to find out if they have a local repair in there, they should be able to fix it under warranty.

How to fix error messages samsung tv?

I think you have two errors:
1. New service not found
2. usb power overload.

#2 means that whatever you have plugged in is taking too much power for the tv to run it. Unplug it, and see if things work better.

Samsung bd-c6900 xaa dvd player freezes on 3d prometheus movie in same spot at scene 20

Report the error to Samsung support. There is an ongoing problem with the firmware. Make sure you have updated to the most recent firmware version 1025.0 that was released this month. There are still unresolved problems with the new firmware release though. Many movies will fail to load and other will load and play but will skip/freeze during playback. This is related to the anti-piracy features on the Blu-Ray that the player can not properly handle.

Bd rom wont eject

If it does not eject, how does it open?

Make sure it has power (ejects). Check Device Manager in Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot. Right click My Computer > Manage. Select Device Manager > View > Show Hidden Devices. Now delete all DVD/CD-ROMs and reboot. Windows will say "New Hardware Found" and install. Check BIOS by pressing F key (correct F key is noted during boot) and make sure BIOS see's the Optical Drive.

Dear inVaUSA, I followed your action and contacted 1-800-SAMSUNG but did not fare as well as you did. I was told there is not a firmware update nor a patch to fix the "New Device Not Found USB1 Power Overload" even after I read your post to the support representative I was dealing with. She told me that it is a PlayStation issue even though I have never connected any USB device to any USB Port on my Samsung TV. Could I Please trouble you to send me the firmware update you received from Samsung `in a private message or to my email address if you prefer. Thank you!

I bought a Samsung BD C6900 from USA designed for region 1 and A . Living in Europe I cannot play my european DVDs and BDs ? Are there any solutions to change the region code ?

Here is a solution: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/samsung-bd-c6900/10895

Please note, however, that even after region code hack, it may remain NTSC only, so if you are planning to play European DVDs recorded with PAL system, it may not work.
