Unfortunately, the toner drive gear (LM4225) gear is not available as a separate item, nor is the entire gearbox available - only the plunger and the motor are available as spare parts

if you're good at plastic welding, you can repair it, otherwise this renders the machine 'throw-away'

Look to make sure your developer is flowing evenly on the mag roller. Next I would check the scoretron\grid it is the saw tooth blade that faces the drum.

Print out has white strips

Hi, white strips can vary depending on how you place your paper ie can be horizontal or vertical on the printed copy. Please check the following possibilities;
  1. Check that there is enough developer on the developer unit and that it is uniformly distributed on the magnet roller. If less, add a little or replace a new on, if there is some lines on the magnet roller, pour out and sieve the particle.
  2. If the steps above do not work, check the drum drive gear on the drive unit and replace if teeth are worn out.
  3. Replace a new drum and also the side seal which comes with the drum cleaner blade as they are the ones that removes the drum coating.
Please be cautious.

Orange light on drum. drum making a loud hammering sound when printer is put on or attempting to print.

Sounds like a broken drum drive gear. Try another known good drum assembly first. Parts can be googled and found. But, difficult for end user to replace. You have to remove all covers and fuser asm. Then gear housing from the left side to change the drum drive gear.

My printer dont work. On screen appear Error Code # L4-02

L4-02 is a drum motor lock detection.

One cause that we have found on these particular models is the waste toner auger (built in the drum unit) drive gear breaks due to blockage or failure of the auger. You can remove the drum unit by 1st removing the toner then developer tank then a blue screw will loosen the drum unit. Once out look at the back of the drum unit and you will see 3 little white gears. Check for damage or missing gears. If they are you will need a new drum unit. Please contact your local Sharp dealer for OEM replacement.

Drum reset for Panasonic kx-mb781

There is a little special (white) gear on the outer left side of the drumkit - a little bit below where the toner sits. That gear joins with toner mixing assy - and you can rotate it in counterclockwise all the way back. This should reset the drum counter - worked for me - I hope it also does the trick for you ;-)

Not printing on left side of page

The problem is that the revolving drum doesn't contact the OPC drum proberly. You have to open the left side off the machine and replace the little white gear on the shaft that drive revolving drum. The gear has "jumped"one step and the revolving drum isn't parallell to the OPC drum. I fixed my 2840 last night it takes some time but now it works perfect.

Hallo

07,009.42 indicates that the printhead was unable to tilt normally on its axis.

You probably have a cracked drum maintenance camshaft. If the drum maintenance pivot plate is white plastic it should be replaced as well with the new style, which is black plastic. This repair requires removing the process drive gears assembly and reinstalling it requires the gears to be timed. This repair should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with these machines.

You probably have a cracked drum maintenance camshaft. The dm camshaft is driven by the process drive motor on the right side of the printer. It raises and lowers the maintenance kit against the drum to oil and clean the drum. The camshaft has 2 lobes on it. These lobes crack over time and cause several different error conditions. The camshaft part # 401100380 is only about $17 from xerox but can be tricky to replace if you're not mechanically inclined. The other thing to look at is the pivot plate assembly. Slide out the drum maintenance kit. If you look inside the cavity the plate that the maintenance kit sits on is called the pivot plate. If it's white it will also need to be replaced with a black one.

Continuous Paper Pick Up

Paper pickup solenoid plunger out of position remove covers locate solenoid on the right hand side of machine as looking from behind( Could be the other side as not got machine in front of me) and check that the plunger is in its correct position. If not refit replace covers and check.

Note sometimes the plunger falls to the bottom of the printer loosing the tension spring. What causes the problem you have is that the plunger does not lock the pickup gear into position and the engine drives that pickup gear all the time causing to pickup paper all the time.

Thanks Jason
