Question about Heating & Cooling

The ac is no longer working. Well air isnt coming out of the vents and it sounds like a bound up motor or fan. It is making a weird noise from the heater part of the unit, thats located in the garage...Where is the ac fan located and do you think this is it?

The blower for the inside the house should be located in the garage. Check there first. Pull the acess panel and feel if the motor is hot to touch. If so it may be bad blower motor.

Pontiac g6 2006 heater/ac fan doesnt work on #3 speed setting, fan made squealing bearing noise for a while but quit, also inside/outsied air vent switch vent makes clicking noise when set to outside air

you will need to replace the blower motor as it has probably siezed going by the squealing noise you say you heard.i`m assuming this has more than 3 speeds for the fan motor.if it wasn`t working on one speed then you probably have a bad blower motor resistor that will need to be replaced as well so you will have all fan speeds.this is located in the air duct housing near the blower motor and will have about 6 wires on it.some of these on under the hood on the firewall anywhere from the passenger side to the center of the firewall.not sure about the vent switch.if the vent switch is moving the doors and you hear a clicking then you may have a vent door problem that the door pivot is worn.

The a/c on my 2010 Mercury Milan quits blowing after about 2 hours of driving. Any ideas?

Sounds to me like the A/C clutch is no good and out of adjustment. You should goto your nerrest junkyard and get a used assembly take the clutch off then you learn how it comes off and install it on yours the save the pump for later use if needed. The clutch should only have a .010 air gap after install between th inner elctro magnet and the clutch plate it's self.

Clicking noise from dash near a/c controls and radio area. possibly fan assembly fault

I doubt if you have a fan problem. More than likely you have a bad actutor motor. There are 2 small electric actuator motors under the dash. The temperture door actuator moves the air temperature door, which controls the temperature of the air coming from either the a/c or heater vents. The mode actuator (which is probably the one you hear clicking) controls the mode of operation, or more simply, which vents the air will be coming out of. When the internal gears of the mode actuator fail and start slipping, they make a loud repetative "clicking" sound, which is what you are hearing. Another symptom that may or may not accompany this situation is a longer than usual wait time for your mode selection to occur. So to sum up, a loud repetative clicking sound from the center of the dashboard possibly accompanied by a longer than usual wait time for your ac,heat or defrost mode to occur, usually indicates a failing mode door actuator.

Our ac unit is making a loud noise and there is water coming into the house via the vents. we cleaned out the vent and took some of the water out of the middle pan and the outside pan, and it doesn't...

My recommendation would be to have some one knowledgeable in refridgeration come in and take a look. You make have more than one problem going on. However the water build up can be due to a plugged drain line. Try using a wet and dry vac to clean the drain line . the fan noise may be the fan motor bearings. If this is the case you can remove the fan and possibly have bearing installed but most likely will need to replace the fan motor

My ac unit fan is blowing but it is not coming threw the vents . Do I have the wiring plugged up wrong or what is the problem I just put the new motor on the unit because the fan was not moving at all now...

Sounds like your motor is going backwards. Most new motors have two short wires plugged into two more short wires that you can reverse to make the motor go the other way. These reverse wires are located on the motor housing next to where all the other wires come out of the motor.

Air conditioner stop blowing in 2002 Dodge Caravan can feel cool air and vents when traveling down highway with ac power on. Just won't blow out

There is as blower motor resistor which is part of what makes your fan blow. So your fan isnt blowing but everything else works right? Thats what I would look @ first.

Sounds like the motor burned up when the ice blocked the air which it was not able to cool the motor it will need to be replaced. (the motor)

AC dead? Acting strange like a Stephen King novel

do not interfere with this AC system ,you may be able to change the fan motor but be careful with the AC pipes ,if the pipe cracks and gas escapes it can cause frostbite in about 1 sec flat .Now the most likely cause of the air flow in the front not working correctly is because either its got a split rubber pipe that connects to the operating valves or the diaphram in one of the valves has split which means a replacement operating valve ,if you listen carefully you mey be lucky and hear a hiss somewhere
