Can you supply a little more info?

What monitor? make & model
What graphic's card? make and model
What PC?
What Operating system?
What res are you trying to get from?

In the mean time, things to check:
1. Graphic card driver is installed, and not just the "standard VGA" windows driver. (As this will give you this error)
2. The Graphics card is not conflicting with another device. (This you can find in Control Panel, System, Hardware devices.)

If it is a driver problem, try the manufacture's website, supplying brand and model number. That info is a bit of a minimum requirement for the problem to be researched. However, the above webpages may be of some help.

1920x1080 resolution is the starting point for HD video. If you have set your desktop resolution to that or anything avove then you should be running at HD resolutions. Maybe the image/video you are watching is not at a HD resolution, therefore it will appear distorted and streched (poor quality). To fully experience HD playback use video files and imaged that are at the 1920x1080 resolution and above.

Resolution is not set to minimum 1024 X 768 pixels

this is not a problem this is a disadvantage of an internal display card of the motherboard .Install an AGP card into an AGP slot then you can see the higher resolution.

Can't change resolution on an acer x203h video monitor

The resolution is changed on the PC and not the monitor. Right click on the desktop and select Properties->Settings->Screen Resolution. Here you will get a slider showing Minimum to Maximum resolution that your monitor is capable of taking. Start sliding the indicator one notch at a time and click OK when satisfied. You will be given an opportunity to revert back to the original one should you want to. Go ahead and change to a more likeable one.

Acer x193w on win xp woulnt go above 800x600 resolution

The resolution issue you are describing sounds like a video card driver issue. You must determine what video card or chipset you have and apply the appropriate driver. The Acer x193w monitor is plug and play, it will display whatever the OS sends to it provided it is within it display range and 1440x900 is definitely within that range.

Moniter says out of frequency set resolution lower or see user guide

The settings you need to change are actually on the computer's video hardware. Assuming you are using a Windows machine, right click anywhere on the desktop. Select Properties, then the Settings tab. You should see a resolution slider that you can adjust. There should be an Advanced button that will give you access to other settings that are possible with your hardware. This is where you can adjust the frequency.

If you are unable to see anything because of this problem then you may need to boot into Safe Mode to correct this. Let me know.

Good luck.

Try using the minimum supported refresh rate. Also set the resolution to the minimum that will please you (for example 1024x768). See whether the lag still occurs. (Use the nVidia control panel to change the settings). If there is no lag, you can increase the resolution step by step (if you feel the resolution is too low) and keep on increasing until lag occurs. Set the res just below that value.

Regarding L1515S 15" LCD Monitor Resolution

Hello mallik, The LCD monitor is actually a active matrix of small transistors (3 for each pixel). They have one native resolution, a FIXED one for example you monitor has 1024 x 768 pixels. This results in 786432 pixels displayed on the screen. Because each pixel is controlled by 3 transistors there will be 2359296 transistors controlling your entire screen. This is a fix number. You can't raise the resolution to 1280 x 1024 because this will require as you can see now... a lot more transistors on the same surface. All you can do is to lower the resolution, in this case 4 pixels (12 transistors) form a larger pixel acording to that lower resolution. The image can look blurry in these situations. THe bottom ideea is that a LCD pannel (more corectly said, TFT (thin transistor film) pannel, has one optimum resolution, it's native one. The higher the better, when choosing one to buy, but you can't raise the resolution over that. You can just lower it. It works different then the normal conventional CRT monitors. Sorry for my bad english as I live in a non english-speaking country. Also if you have anymore questions please post a comment.
