Kenmore 15.0 cubic foot automatic defrost upright freezer - lost power for about 10 hours several weeks ago. Before power came back on we were able to run drop cord from neighbors and plug freezer so food wouldn't thaw out. After power came back on we repluged into our outlet and the alarm came on. After the alarm going off for awhile, we manually cut the alarm off - the alarm light is still on and when you turn the alarm to on, it starts going off. The freezer is working fine, keeping everything frozen as it should, we just can't get the alarm light and alarm to go off. What should we do next.
Use a freezer thermometer and tell me the actual temperature. Or at least store some ice cream and see if it stays brick hard. Unless I have some idea of the actual temp I can't tell if defective freezer or alarm
