Question about Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Router

Router help After phoneing broadband help I was told the problem was my router that it needed reset. I know nothing about computers or routers, reading whats written on my router it's a Wireless-G 2.4 GHz Broadband Router with 4-port switch whatever that means. Can you help me to fix this (in plain language) that even I can understand. I tried pressing the button at the back but it made no difference, now I'm stuck with my lap top in one place as the cables don't allow me to move it. Thankyou.

I just purchased a Lynksis Wireless G router from you guys. I was told that it would help me get great wireless access allover my house(mind you I do not have a very large home) The wireless device is upstairs and works perfect with my home computer, but it does not work well downstairs. Slow and crashes
What do I need to do to make this work?

I need help changing my mtu setting to 1364 so i can get on xbox live but i don't know the user name and password and i dont have the manual

The default password for the Linksys router is admin . see if that works nothing in the user name.
if that is not working then try some of your common passwords and see if that works.
If nothing is working then you will need to reset the router and reconfigure the router.
once you reset the router, you will lose all the settings on the router and you will need to setup the router from the beginning.

Linksys Wireless-G2.4 GHz Broadband that my laptop doesnn't recog

You will need to check the wireless settings of the router
is there any computer connected to the router ?
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
Router set up page is the page where you can check all the wireless settings of the router.

If that doesn't work then upgrade the firmware of the router.
Firmware is the software of the router. After upgrading the firmware, it is recommended that you should reset the router and reconfigure the router.

How do i sync windows vista with my router?

hello!

-- who is your internet service provider
-- what is the operating system of your computer?
-- is this working fine before or is this a brand new router

you may try this and see if this help solve your problem. make sure your computer is directly connected to the router

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and configure the router settings
Step 7: test the Internet connection.

if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router

note:

configuring the router settings will depends who is your provider. if your isp is dsl you need to configure your ISP username and password on the router. if your router is a cable no need to change any settings on the router. it should automatically work

if you are still having trouble configuring your device, try to call supportrix and use supportcall as your promo code for 1 free technical support.

Modem connection problems

The DNS failing is because of your Broadband provider. When you purchased their internet, they were supposed to supply you with a modem. If they arent helping you with this, they are scamming you of your money and you need to go with a new provider. The DNS has nothing to do with what you do or what you can do. (Nothing you will do will controll this except for contacting an internet service provider.)
