Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

I have a 1080 P Mitsubishi wd57733 and the hdmi from DIRECTV HD does not work. The tv senses the connection but it just shows blue. The component input works fine. I tried reset and setup and even tried my hd box on my other identical tv where the hdmi works fine wothout any configs. Any ideas?

I have 2x 57 inch Mits and 2 HD boxes from Directv. I swapped cables and HD boxes and they work on my second tv. Therefore it is not the HD box or the cable. I have 3 HDMI inputs and tried them all and none of them work. I checked the input and see no obstructions. The tv does recognize the cable when I plug it in, there just isn't any picture or sound.

I would think if the tv senses the connection, then the internal connection is good as well on all three inputs.

Mitsubishi agreed to replace the board at no cost through their warranty assistance program. I just pay for the labor with the repair service! Thanks!

Yes as it pointed me in the direction of where the issue was. Thanks

Blue screen signals the fact that the tv doesn't receives the signal. The HDMI connector itself is faulty. Open the back of the tv and look at the solderings for the HDMI pins - they are loose or broken.

In that case either the image processor in your tv is no longer capable of decoding the HDMI stream or the routing chip no longer processes the HDMI signal. In both cases the mainboard will have to be replaced. I don't think it's worth it, just use the component input, the loss of image quality will be negligible.

ILO 42 plasma P42BSMT-32 am upgrading satellite service to HD is this tv HD compatiable no HTMI port

You can get 720p or 1080i " fake 1080 " through the RGB component inputs, But you will not get 1080p true 1080 res. But, this TV is only 720p anyway. But,it will still make a big difference in the pict. up-grading. And having the new HD box when you get new your new service now, will save you $100 from needing to buy a HD box later if you have a new TV with the HDMI. As DirecTV will give you the HD boxes free with new service. But,charge later if you have up-grade from a standard box. No sure how Dish network does tho. But, not have had too many customers happy with Dish. DirecTV is the way to go. And the signal during the rain is so much more problem free.

My mitsubishi medallion hd 1080 doesn't show content from component cable

Some of the older Mitsubishi with HD 1080 have only one component input for HD---it is marked on rear as DTV----also a model number may allow me to give another suggestion--Some of these sets (ws, wt, vs models) will on occasion lock out or disable the input/s.

Depending on model number most also have 3 hidden menus---one is the option menu----it allows with the Mitsubishi remote via a 4 digit number (by model number) to enter there and do a hard reset of the set----sets every setting back to factory original---seen it "cure" all kinds of odd problems from missing rear inputs, no sound, odd video issues---you name it.

Get me the model number and I will see if can find the code for yours--you can also try hooking first direct a 1080 blue ray or Dvd if you want to see if the input is active or not first.

I am attempting to connect a Verizon Fios QIP6200-2 HD set top box to my Mitsubishi WT-46805 HD TV using the Y, Pr and Pb RCA connections (no HDMI port on TV) I cannot get any HD channels to work.

The set will have two component inputs, one is NOT HD.

You want to connect to the DTV input which if you look from the back will be marked 480/1080 I .

Also double check the connections to be sure blue-red-red and green to green.

How to hook up with new converter boxes

This TV has a Digital Tuner built in?

Unless you have some purpose I would use the internal tuner.

Anyway. Use the HDMI input to hook up the Converter and Component (Red, Green and Blue video) to connect the DVD. You can use component for the Converter as well since it is reasonably comparable to HDMI (HDMI is 1080P Component is 1080i but it is difficult/impossible to notice unles picture is 60 or larger)

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525, and when the Directv installer came out, he said that he could not connect the box to my tv because he didn't know how to get my tv in HDMI mode. From what I am reading, it...

Your right connect the HDMI output from the directv receiver to an HDMI input on your tv. Change the tv input to the HDMI input and it should work. If your tv does not have HDMI input then it should have component input indentified as red blue green connectors on the back of tv. This is for video only. Connect the red and white for audio using the yellow/red/white cable that was included with receiver. The red blue green cable is also included with receiver as well as the HDMI cable. Did this installer educate you on how to use your directv equipment. If you are paying for HD access but your receiver is not connected the an HD input on your tv then you are not getting what you are paying for. This should of been resolved during the installation. The installer either is incompentant or just did not care. Call directv and demand them to make their receiver work with your tv if this means a field supervisor tech being sent out to correct this.

Is this TV HD capable?

This is not an HDTV. However, that does not mean you cannot use it to view the HD channels with DirecTV, you just wont be able to view them in hi-def. Use the component inputs from the directv tuner and plug those into the proper component inputs of your JVC. Once you see the DirecTV picture on the screen, go into menu... setup (with the directTV remote) and make sure that the only resolution checked is 480i. DirecTV with 'downconvert' those cannels to standard def, and they will still look pretty good though the component connection...

... now, in answer to your next question: "What exactly do I need to view HDTV with DirecTV?"...

1. A television that will accept 720p or 1080i signals.
2. A DirecTV HD Tuner.
3. Any DirecTV service BUT you must purchase the HD pack so that they will 'unlock' the HD channels
4. The proper cables to hook in between your DirecTV HD receiver and your HD-capable TV/Monitor. You may use either HDMI or component video cables, so long as your TV will accept them. Tune your TV input accordingly. When using component video cables, you must also run a separate cable(s) for audio...

Take care,
Rob

ps. DirecTV HD tuners do not have an RF 'out'. ("coaxial or ch3/4 connection")

Mitsubishi WS-65315 plug in HD comp shows as 480i

Greetings,

In the input assignment menu make sure that the DTV (the only 1080 input on this tv) is set to Y/Pb/Pr and see if that fixes your issue with at least the HD-DVR.

BTW- the HDMI information "1080i HD can only be selected if TV has HDMI inputs". is not correct.
