Whirlpool built ( Kenmore, Kitchen-Aid, Jenn-Air, etc. ) dishwasher electronic control “blinking start light”

Hello, Welcome to FixYa.

The most common reason to experience the symptom described here is a often overlooked yet simply a faulty door switch.

The part to repair is typically only $10 -$15 at most appliance part retailers. The factory authorized part number is # 8269209.

What happens is the switch is not indicating to the control that the door is closed, hence not allowing the unit to start...exactly what it is designed to do.

You will need to remove all the #20 torx head screws around the inner door panel to separate the panels.

Once done, remove the rectangular plastic protective cover over the control and switch assembly, and there lye's the micro switch.

If you check local brick & mortar retailers or on-line depots such as “” “” or “” to name a few you will find the micro switch I am referring to here.

**Please turn off the breaker panel before service is done to the first**

Of course I should add one could experience these same symptoms if the door where in fact not closing or the latch itself is not contacting the switch inside the door.

Let me know how you make out and what you find.

Thank you for choosing FixYa for your repair needs and good luck going forward.

I have a Frigidaire front loading washer LTF 2140FS2 that will not start. I press the Start button door locks, press again the Wash Cycle light comes on. Then after a few seconds all the cycle lights...

Press and HOLD the Start/Pause and Cancel buttons simultaneously. As long as the buttons are held, the failure code will appear in the display as an E followed by two numbers, a number and a letter or two letters, please post back with the error code for further assistance.
