Question about Sharp Viewcam VL-AH151U Camcorder
It's most likely either a tracking problem, but the heads and mech could need cleaning, also. Probably the easiest way you could attack this problem would be to run it by a camera repair shop, and see what they think. First thing to try is cleaning it. These units are tricky to clean, and the heads can be easily damaged. Sometimes a dry type cleaning tape does the trick, but not always, if the heads are clogged too much. You might try one, but they are pricey- here's one I found on Ebay:
Usually tracking effects the output different to just a stripe, so I think it just needs cleaning.
