I am having problems adjusting volume

What type of laptop HP , ASUS , COMPAQ , ACER ?..........
Up the Volume on My HP Laptop
Open the "Start" menu and click on the "Control Panel" icon.
Locate and open the icon that deals with sound.
Depending on your version of Windows, it will say either "Sounds and Audio Devices" or "Adjust System Volume."
Adjust the volume under the "Speakers" icon.
To do this, click on the slider bar and move it up on the slider.
If you need to decrease the volume, simply move the slider bar down.
Click on "OK" when finished and close the "Control Panel" window.
Click on the speaker icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen for a faster volume adjustment. Simply move the slider bar up to increase the volume and move it back down to decrease the volume.

Volume on an Acer Laptop
Acer laptops are typically sold with pre-installed Windows operating systems that offer sound-adjustment features for increasing the volume on the laptop's built-in stereo speakers.
These same functions can also be used in tandem with external speakers or headphones to increase the volume, as well as mute all sound on the laptop.
If the computer should output an unusually low volume, fixing the problem may be no more involved than sliding a control switch with the computer mouse. Click once on the speaker icon in the taskbar on the lower-right corner to open a rectangular window with a slide control.
Click and hold the left mouse button on the slide control to drag it upward, increasing the volume to the laptop's maximum setting.
Click the "Mixer" button below the slider control to open another window with volume controls for "Speakers" and "Applications," adjusting each slide control upward to increase the volume.
Be sure the speaker icon below each control is not accidentally muted.
Click once on each speaker icon to remove the red circle with a slash through it, which will restore audio.
Click the Microsoft flag or "Start" button in the lower-left corner if the shortcut speaker icon is missing from the taskbar.
Click "Control Panel" to select "Adjust Sounds" from the Hardware and Sounds category.

When I bought a new laptop computer, i can't get as much volume out of my Bose Companion 3 speakers.

If you are using windows 7, open the start menu and type "Adjust System Volume" in the search bar, then open the corresponding app it finds. If your volume sliders are all the way at the top, then the problem is probably that your new motherboard cannot amplify the line out as much as your old motherboard.

Also most modern laptops have dedicated volume up down buttons, or volume buttons in the F keys at the top of the keyboard. Try changing the volume with these to make sure it is at the max.

Thanks,
John Vickers

Sound problem

Check taskbar volume control and make sure its max. If you have volume buttons make sure they are maxed. Some laptops are a key combo to increase/decrease volume. Make sure whatever program you are running that the volume slider is all the way up. Go into your control panel and double check your volume settings. Go into your device manager and make sure there are no exclamation points in yellow next to any audio devices or codecs.

Click on start. Click on control panel. Double click on sounds and audio devices. Click the volume tab. Under the device volume, move the volume slider from low to high. click OK. Check the volume. If there is nothing else wrong, your volume should be good now.

How to turn volume up on asus k60 notebook

on your system tray (where the clock is) look for a speaker icon
there you got 2 options
1. click on it and a dial for volume adjusment will come up, adjust as required.
2. left click and go into the mixer or properties, this option may vary depending on your sound card/driver but usually it will give you more options and more areas where you can adjust the volume and other sound advance settings.

3. also check a phisical volume adjusted, some it's located on the edge of your laptop.

hope that helps!

Volume controls problem

There are options in System Preferences :: Sound for a volume slider in the menu bar and in Displays for the brightness slider. This can get you by but your keys seem to be remapped--check Keyboard & Mouse that your shortcuts are not changed and you are not using them for F1.... (Restore should have fixed that.) -Ken

Want to increase volume on speakers

You may have already reached the limits if you have adjusted the settings through Control Panel (?). Are these external speakers you are listening through or is it the internal speaker?
In Control Panel (reached from the Start button, bottom left), choose Sounds and Audio Devices. The Volume tab is the first one. Make sure the Device volume slider bar is all the way to the right. Next, choose Advanced and make sure all those slider bars are up to the top with no Mute boxes checked. Finally, at the bottom choose Speaker Volume and make sure those slider bars are all the way to High.
If none of these help and you're using external speakers, it is time to buy a new set. If you only have an internal speaker you're listening with, keep in mind that they aren't powerful enough to give you the kind of volume needed to listen to some things on the web.
Let me know if you have any further questions. Please rate my answer.
