Question about Mitsubishi WS-55513 55" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Blue Screen only. No input seems to work. I have my xbox 360 plugged into the component 1, I have my antenna plugged into ant b, and I get no signal. No audio or video. I reset everything on the NETcommand, but I still get the blue screen. How do I view anything on this TV? Or is something wrong???

it was unplugged for a whole day yesterday. And would the tuner affect the component and regular inputs?? and if that's the case .. how can I tell for sure it's the problem and where can I get a replacement part?

  • loudvox Sep 03, 2010

well .. it told me I have a problem that I can't verify without spending a lot of money. So while it was semi informative, it didn't really help much. But thanks for the effort.

Have you tried unplugging it for about 4 hours so it can reset itself? If that doesn't correct the problems and no input channels are working, then you could very likely have a faulty tuner

You can get replacement parts from partstore.com or shopjimmy.com
You can test the tuner/tuner board with a multi-tester. Testing the inputs for resistance as well as testing the capacitors.
This tuner takes all signals and transfer it to the screen and projection unit. This will cause no picture.

How do you get your xbox 360 to play, on a 65'' mitubishi projection tv,its connected but nothing comes on screen when i put a movie in just a blank screen and no sound,if i'm on a channel, the channel...

Hello

The Xbox 360 connects to a TV using either

- COMPONENT (red blue green for video, red and white for audio

- COMPOSITE (yellow for video, red and white for audio)

- HDMI

So, if your TV is on a "Channel", it is not on the correct input to view the Xbox 360.

Check the Xbox and verify which cables it is using to connect to the TV. When you find this, follow the cable to the back of the TV and find the input selection. It should be listed as the type and a number (i.e. HDMI 2, COMPONENT 1).

Have the Xbox on. Use the TV remote and use either the INPUT or the MENU options to change the input to the input that matches the port that the Xbox is connected to.

This should make the Xbox work.

When you are done with the Xbox, use the INPUT or MENU to change back to the tuner to watch TV.

Do you have the input turned on that you use the xbox for? Try different inputs as well. If you are getting the menu to come up, the blue screen is telling you that you don't have a signal being run through that particular input.

NO PICTURE

Refer to the manual (free download here). Generally, a blue screen indicates a very low or non-existent signal. This can happen when the antenna is unable to gather enough of a signal from a particular broadcaster, or if an A/V input is selected, but the A/V device is not on or providing a signal. Since you are not seeing channel information when tuning, I suspect that the television is set to display an A/V input instead of the internal tuner.

With a working remote, locate the TV/AV button on the lower left (manual page 3 - item 8). When this button is pressed, you can choose to display signals on the ANT, VIDEO1, VIDEO2 or COMPONENT jacks. The ANT selection chooses the input on the RF jack such as an antenna or cable TV (with or without converter box). If using a cable box, the TV tuner should be set to Ch3 or Ch4 as determined by your cable box. Otherwise, select the VIDEO1, VIDEO2 or COMPONENT input that has the source signals you wish to watch from a cable box, DVD player, etc. that is connected to the rear input jacks. Page 7 of the manual details the connection and remote operation.

I hope this helps!

How I hook up an XBOX 360 to digital converter box (TV does have yellow/white/red jacks). Also have rabbit ears for antenna. Thank you.

you don,t , the xbox 360 will have component cables and posibly an hdmi output , but you can plug the component cables directly to the tv in a auxillary input and on your menu screen it will either say video1 or video2 or video 3 ,you can put the cables from your xbox into those inputs on the tv and as long as your tv is also at that input you should have a signal , hope this helps ,glenn

Hello my name is steve

1. Make sure the Cable is properly connected to the back of the Xbox.

2. Make sure the Cble is properly connected to the inputs on the TV (Color coded if using component or composite cables).

3. Look on the large part of the cable where it plugs into the Xbox. There is a switch with two settings: HDTV and TV. If using the component cables (Green, Blue, Red + White Red), turn the switch to HDTV. If using the composite cables (Yellow, White, Red), switch it to TV.

4. If the problem persists, contact Microsoft at 800 4MY - XBOX . It's a toll free number but it isn't 24 hour.

No Picture from Component Input #1 or #2 but do have audio via Surrond Sound

Simplest thing would be that your component cables are not HU'd correctly. Having them reversed would do this.

YPbPr inputs not working

Tacz, What video input# on the back of the TV is your component video?? Are you sure the TV is set to look at that video input#??? You may be looking at one of the composite video inputs as far as the TV is concerned and with nothing plugged in to that input the TV would naturally give the error message you indicated. Let me know.. Bill
