Thhis error is usually due to a dirty photcell (sensor) in the tray 2 paper feed assembly or a broken sensor flag in the same assembly. Start be removing all cartridges and the transfer belt. Look in the bottom of the printer below the lowest cartridge slot for a removeable cover. That's the area your problem is probably in. I have incuded a link to a free PDF of complete service manual below. Good luck.

SOURCE: Error Lights

it is a bad system board. replace the board, and your printer will work. I've had this same issue on about 75 of 400 1710's we have.

SOURCE: low toner & paper jam

There is a problem with the HP 2015 printer. The symptoms you describe are a common fault requiring the printer to be returned to the HP repair centre.

Out of a batch of 40 2015 printers, we have had to return 9 so far for the same problem. 2 of the 9 have been back twice... The printers come back with new MAC addresses and this suggests that the main motherboard is being changed.

The paper is probably jammed between the fuser and the rear cover if you can't see it.

SOURCE: Paper jam on HP officejet 6500

Try This :
Connect the printer directly to the wall outlet ; not through any Power strip
Then Unplug the Power cable from the back of the printer
Keep on tapping the power cable for next 30 seconds
Plug in back the power cable;
Open the rear access door and you will get to see some rollers
Clean the rollers with a Lint free cloth Moistened with some distilled water
Try to do a copy if still it doesn works
Then Unplug the Power cable from the back of the printer
With one hand press and hold down the (#) and the (6) button and with the other hand plug in back the power cable ; it will do a Semifull reset on the printer; This will take some time ; Follow the instruction on the screen;
If still it doesn't work then you need to contact HP ;
The toll free no. for HP would be : 1-800-474-6836
They will replace the printer for you free of cost (No Charge if the printer is in warranty i.e within 1 yr of purchase)

HP Laserjet P2035 shows paper light blinking as if out of paper. Paper tray is full. Will only take paper from manual feeder.

I have had similar symptoms: Unit won't recognize Tray 2 is full. If I hold the spring-loaded actuator with my finger, the printer will initialize as though it were detecting paper. (obviously it pitches a jam message when paper fails to feed). I've watched the pickup solenoid and it appears to be functioning correctly. I'm leaning towards it being the position of the actuator, which may be causing it to fail to push back and block the sensor. Unfortunately the manual for the P2035 doesn't have any specifics regarding this assembly, nor does it have part numbers for anything but the photosensor. Does anybody have a photo of the correct alignment of this particular part or a link to something that would be useful? To reiterate, we are talking about the spring loaded actuator directly to the right of the tray 2 pickup roller that is secured by one of the two white retaining collars. Thanks in advance for any help

How do I fix a paper jam?

Step 1
Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear
some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing
on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If
your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer
manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the
jam occurred.
Step 2
Turn off the printer.
Step 3
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Step 4
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path
and to the toner or ink cartridge.
Step 5
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge.Place it in a bag
or away from light to avoid damaging it.
Step 6
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with
both hands and pulling firmly. If several pieces are jammed together
try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
Step 7
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to
free the paper.
Step 8
Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors
you opened and turn the printer back on.
Step 8
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still
some paper in the printer.Reinspect the paper path.

HP Laserjet P2015n error

Hi,
If paper jam light is solid or printer shows paper out light solid all the time,
Then try these suggeted steps:
Take the Tray 2 out and check if all the paper guides are moving freely if they are than remove the toner cartridge and check if any toner sensor is not align correctly.
If they are aligned correctly than next to the pickup roller there is a small piece of plastic make sure it should be hanging freely if it is than we need to perform cold reset of the printer.
Switch off the printer press and hold down the go button and switch the printer on keep holding down go button till the time three lights lit up on control panel, as soon as three lights lits up release the go button and let the printer initialise of it s own.
If that doesn't fix than Formatter Board of the printer is faulty.
Logic:
If there is no paper jam and printer rep[orts the jam means either any of the sensors is not aligned correctly and reporting the jam or formatter Board(Motherboard) of the printer is faulty and showing incorrect display.
Thanks and Regards

6
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
Step
7
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.
Step
8
Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
Step
9
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.

It means that the printer is in READY State.

Control panel
The printer control panel is comprised of six lights and two buttons. The lights produce patterns that
identify the printer status.
1 Jam light: Indicates that there is a jam in the printer.
2 Toner light: When the print cartridge is low, the Toner light illuminates. When the print cartridge is out of the printer,
the Toner light blinks.
3 Paper out light: Indicates that the printer is out of paper.
4 Attention light: Indicates that the print-cartridge door is open or other errors exist.
5 Ready light: Indicates that the printer is ready to print.
6 Go button and light: Initiates action or indicates status.
7 Cancel button: To cancel the print job that is currently printing, press the Cancel button.
