If you forgot your passcode, about the only thing you can do is reset your router and reset it up after. To do this press and hold the reset button (or press it in with a pin) for about 5 seconds and let it go, your router will reboot and when it comes back online, the wifi will be open and unconfigured. You can then log onto the network and access the router config with http://192.168.1.1 (linksys and some others) or http://192.168.0.1 (dlink and some others) or http://192.168.1.254 or http://192.168.0.254 (2wire)
If you have a PC laptop that is already connected to the wireless you can recover the wireless password most cases with this tool:
well, you will want to make sure that you have access to the network password if you have one set. Most issues i've ever had with connecting to any router has been an incorrect security setting. 1. make sure that you know the security type (ie: WEP, WPA, WPA2) 2.once you have been able to verify that, get the password for the router (if you haven't modified the passcode it is typically printed on the device).
KEEP IN MIND: you have to know the case of the passcode. these passcodes are case sensitive, and one character off will cause it to not work.
3.make sure that in the dialogue on the computer being used, that the security settings being used in the setup are the same as the ones the router uses. 4.make sure u enter the passcode exactly the same way as it is set in the router. passcodes are case sensitive.
If there are any issues, it is probably a nuance in the software on the computer itself. routers are pretty bulletproof when it comes to any bugs, so it is usually the client device to blame for software issue.
one thing that may help is to simply unplug the router, wait a few seconds, and then plug it back in if all else fails. this will cause the router to reboot, and can sometimes iron out small bugs.
Disconnect? I assume you mean to "Connect" a second computer. You haven't supplied much information as to how you are trying to connect, so I'll assume that you are trying to connect via wireless. If your router has been set up with encryption you will need the passcode to connect. You haven't mentioned what operating system you are working with so again I'll assume it's Windows XP and you are using a laptop.
Make sure your wireless radio is turned on then look down to the bottom right corner and you should see an icon that shows your internet connection status. Right click on it and select "View available wireless networks". It will show all available connections and yours should show on it as a good signal (if you are close to the router). Select the connection and click on "Connect". If you don't have the router set up with encryption it will tell you that the connection is not protected, just click on connect again. If you have encryption set up on the router it will tell you there is encryption and will ask for the passcode/password.
Type in the passcode and then type it in again on the second line (Vista and Windows 7 will only ask for the code once). Click on "remember this connection" when you see the option. You should now be connected and cruising the net! I hope this helped out, but without more information I can't go much further. Cheers!

If you are trying to access the page 192.168.0.1 via wireless connection then I'm afraid it won't work.
You need to be connected to the router before you can access the routers set-up page.
You have 2 options.
1. Connect your macbook to the router with a ethernet cable then access page 192.168.0.1 or
2. On the back of the router is a small hole. (Reset Button) Using a needle or paper-clip press this button for about 10 seconds then release. This will reset the router to factory default settings and usually (Although not guaranteeing this as can be configured differently depending on where the router came from) mean that wireless is "OPEN" in other words no wep/wpa required.
Then you can access the page and set things up with passwords etc you can remember.
Also underneath the router should be the default wep key "IF" the wireless is passcode enabled.
And despite using 2 different netgear routers and updating the firmware. I have to now tell you.
They constantly locked up and dropped my broadband connection so bad I purchased different equipment.
Just FYI if you get connection issues.
the passcode it's asking is the wireless security that was setup on your router. it could be a wep or wpa.
in order to get it, you need to access the setup page of your router. for most routers, all you need to is open a web browser and enter the router's ip address.
i can't provide the exact steps since i don't know the exact model of your router.
you can try to ask the person who manages your router for the wireless key.
hope this'll help you but if not, provide me the exact brand and model of your router
if you have posted the correct model, you cannot connect a modem to this router as it has it's own built in modem, so in effect the routers modem will not configure properly, remove your modem and try again as there is no reason why the key code numbers should not work, unless you have caps lock on when you should'nt or visa versa
