The range works in all modes expect when you turn on the oven or broiler it will show a power failure after a few seconds. This is a gas stove. 110 only. Do you know about the electronics or am I wasting my time.

That makes sense. I will try that when I get back next week. I do not think there is any moisture in the control. I would think the control is behind the back panel.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The issue seems to be with the electronic range control (ERC) going bad however, before replacing it you can take it apart and try to blow some air with the help of hair dryer so that if there is any moisture it blows it off. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Hello,

There may be a broken or burned wire at the back of the range/oven. If you repair any of the wires, use only proper appliance-grade wire and wire connectors. Check to see if power is getting to the range/oven. Does anything turn on, even a light? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

Check the cord that connects the oven to AC outlet to ensure it is not damaged, if it is, replace the cord.

Take care.

    Hello,

I so much believe in the power cord that connects the oven to the AC outlet or the AC outlet itself, plug the oven to another outlet, if same problem, it is the cord that is defective and will need to be replace.

    Hello,

    The
broiler element may be burnt. That is why it shows power failure after the broiler is on. The broiler element in an electric oven
is the black, pencil-thick tube at the top of the oven. When the broiler
is on, the element glows red. This element has an expected life-span of
several years. It may last for only one; it may last for many more.
When the element burns out, you need to replace it.

Hello. You have an open rear oven thermostat causing the complete power failure of your unit. The part numbers you need are W10176670 for the upgraded blower and 9759243 for the thermostat. You will have to remove the oven from the wall in order to remove the back covers to access the thermostat and blower. The blower has been upgraded from 950cfm of airflow to 1200cfm. I have performed this service flash--you will definitely need a helper or 2 in order to pull the oven out and work on it. There is a service bulletin on your oven describing this exact situation. When you replace the thermostat and blower, re-mount the oven and then restore power, the oven will function and unlock. The link for the thermostat is here:
Thermal Overload Safety Thermostat

The link for the blower is here:

If you are hesitant about performing the repair yourself, definitely call for service. I hope this helps you!

I have had issues with my Kenmore Elite conv oven too. I have had several service calls and found out that the TCU (thermal cooling unit) sensor was not working. This allows the oven to cool down so it doesnt overheat the sensors in the display. I actually had to have the oven replaced after 4 months of use. I am currently waiting for a technician to review the replacement oven for the same issue. I spent $7k on all new Elite appliances and will never purchase Kenmore appliances again. Good luck

I have a Kenmore over-the-stove microwave oven that is not heating food. Everything else works. I received a message of PF on the keypad. Is there anything I can do before I have to call a repair...

PF - Power Failure - PF error code indicates a power failure during the cycle.
Press and HOLD start to continue the cycle, or press off/pause to clear display.

What does pf on digital display mean? Oven will not work

Hi,
PF means power failure.
This has caused a power outage to the oven.
This error can be removed by resetting the clock.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for using Fixya.
