Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

How do I install new ram memory on my dell demension 3000 computer

The RAM modules fit into slots on the motherboard and held in place with clips at the ends of the RAM module.
To remove the RAM module, push these clips to down and the RAM will pop up out of the memory slot.
When you insert the new RAM module/s, place the module in the memory slot, it will only fit in one direction, the RAM module have a notch on the edge where if fits into the memory slot.
Press the RAM module firmly into the slot until the clips pop up and locks the RAM module in place then check the clips are firmly in place.
I recommend you install DDR RAM PC3200 in pairs as per the manual.

I have no display when computer is turned on and

First use the following steps:

Turn off the system and disconnect power cables
Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds.
Reconnect power cables and try to turn it on.

If it remains same, the next step will be to:
Turn off the system and disconnect power cables
Open the case and re-seat memory modules

If you have more than one modules installed, try to test the system with a single module at a time.

Dell blue screen tests got data bus system

Hi,

I presume you ran the 32bit Dell diagnostics. The memory test failure indicates that the memory module has failed. If you have more than one memory installed, you can try removing one at a time and run only the memory test (from Custom test option), this way you can isolate the faulty memory. If you have a warranty for the computer, Dell would replace the memory for you (Check warranty status from http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/my_systems_info/manuals?~ck=ln&c=us&l=en&lnki=0&s=gen )

As for your other problem “it just does nothing when i type r for recovery”, you would need to go to the bios, under the “Drives” tree, under “SATA operation” you would need to change option one to two and save and exit. This is applicable on for the Dim 8400. But you would not need to do this if the prvious steps resolve you issue

Hope this helps. Please rate your feedback!
Thanks,
VJ
