Hi,
This error indicates there is some kind of obstruction in the print path, the gears, or ink on the clear plastic encoder strip.
Cleaning the encoder strip should fix the printer, and make sure to clean every little bit of it, even the area back where the printhead parks on the far right.

  • You need to find PURGE CAP the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it is not in use need to be lubricated. If you lubricate the sliders with some white grease (do not get it on the small wipers or the black caps) the mechanism can now slide more freely, and the unit can park the head properly without giving the error. Keep in mind that this repair will probably require you to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism. There are two screws behind the printer, and two in front for each corrosponding side panel (the front screws are behind the grey front panel of the printer - open the top cover to see the clips which hold the front cover on).
I hope this will solve your problem

Thanks for using fixya.
Good luck and have a nice day..!!

Why does the paper jam and a loud noise come from the iP90 printer?

Most likelt to be a foreign object or wad of paper crammed into part of the paper feed roller. The first thing to do is turn it upside down and give a few sharp solid taps on the bottom casing. Then check to see if anything falls out. Also check the leading edge of the paper that didnt go through for marks that might show where it was stopped. If you are sure there is nothing to stop paper feeding through, check at each end of the print head path inside for a clump of ink soaked paper - remove if found. Try feeding a sheet through again. If the paper doesnt feed, try slipping a thin stiff card or plastic sheet back through the feed mechanism from the front. If that doesnt go through, you will have to disassemble the printer to find the problem.

Canon Pixma iP 6600D printing problem.. went to print a scanned document .... paper began to feed in askew from autopaper feeder . Printing process stopped. the process was repeated a couple more times...

To fix the paper feed problem, Clean / rub each roller with a damp cloth with a dab of detergent.
Check for paper residue , especially near the paper empty flag,
Then reset the printer:
First power off the printer. Next, while holding STOP/RESET button, power on the printer.
While holding POWER button, release STOP/RESET button. Then push STOP/RESET button twice.
Wait about 20-30 second until the LED shows "0?. Then push STOP/RESET button four times.
Finally push POWER button twice. Last step is to turn off the printer by pressing the POWER button one last time.

Starts to feed paper and then stops and says it is jammed, it's not.

We have become aware of an incompatibility between the ZoomAlbum software and the Canon PIXMA printers listed below. This issue applies only when using the ZoomAlbum software to print Photo Album covers with Mac OS X.
Affected Models
PIXMA MP240, MP250, MP480, MP490, MP560, MP620, MP640, MP980, MP990, MX320, MX330, MX860, iP3600, iP4600, iP4700 Printers
Phenomenon
The affected PIXMA printers are designed to feed paper via the rear tray with a center-feed mechanism and two paper guides. However, the ZoomAlbum software was intended to feed paper from the rear tray in printers with a right-feed mechanism and a single paper guide. As a result, when using the ZoomAlbum software with Mac OS X to print Photo Album covers with the affected Canon PIXMA printers, the printed image may shift.
adv_zoomalbum_1.jpg Countermeasure
To remedy this problem, please use the following settings when printing Photo Album covers with Mac OS X:
1. Click System Preferences
2. Click Print & Fax
3. Select your Canon PIXMA printer as the default printer
4. Select DL Envelope for Default Paper Size in Page Setup
Note: Be sure to change the Default Paper Size back to Letter after printing the cover.

Canon MX310 keeps not printing and message comes up paper jam sometimes nothing happens sometimes startes to take paper then stops sometimes just feeds through without printing , there seems to be no real...

Have you ever tried printing sticky labels in the thing? You have to be careful with those because sometimes a piece will come off and stick in the corner of your printer. If you don't have long surgical tweezers to pull it out, you could be looking at an expensive repair. Also check your manual. There are two places the paper can jam in. You might have checked only one. I have a different Canon model but on mine I also have to make sure the correct light is on. Is the light for feeding from the back on, or the light from feeding on the front? If you have the same light, press it again to change the place where it will feed from.

Make sure your paper isn't curled or that you're using paper that's too thick also.

Can't answer more because I don't know what program you are using to try to print.

Paper pulls to the right, jams, won't print, tried different paper still won't print

Hi,
Sounds like the feed rollers need cleaning.
Clean the feed rollers, lint free cloth, bottled water.
wait for them to properly dry

Revolve the feed roller bar as you clean them, to clean the feed rollers all the way round, remove all particles from them.

Check you ADF grips are set correctly, if not you will get mis-fed sheets. check the tray is sat properly too or mis-feeds.

Check paper size is correct in print properties too.
Should be good then
Try print.

Regards
Richard.

Printing

Placing one sheet at atime is worse usually as these units feed off a minimum level. Keep them topped up to at least no less than 10 sheets. The printers sound like the have a paper feeding issue. Could be a jam. Open unit, check for paper jam. Cheers lilacgerry xxx
