1 Answer

I have a ER 710M Goldstar, it was working perfect, from one moment to the other begun to bip constantly and keyboard was not working at all, the light is on (screen) with "O". I disconnected the whole night, today is no more bipping but is not accepting any touch on keyboard, I mean I press all keys but none respond, however if I open door, lights get on, and the "0" in on the display screen. Hello: Thank you very much for your time and your suggestions. I have done everything. I think it could be a sensor or wire on the keyboard. Now the problem is still there what do I do, I can not open it, or carryit, because it is very big and heavy. Thank you anyway.

Hello,

There can be many causes for this behavior (or lack of behavior), check the following to see where the problem lies and how to fix it.

  • Door is not closed - on many ovens, there will be no response to any buttons - even setting the clock - unless the door is securely closed.
  • You waited too long - some models have a timeout. If you close the door but don't proceed to activate any functions with a couple of minutes, they will require you to open and close the door to reset their pathetic brains.
  • Controller is confused - a power surge or random non-reproducible action of the universe may have resulted in the controller's program ending up in an infinite loop. Pull the plug for a minute or two to reset it.
  • Defective interlock switches - this can result in the controller thinking the door is open and ignoring you.
  • Faulty controller or its power supply - a power surge may have damaged the electronics. Other than checking for bad connections and obviously bad power supply components, diagnosing this will be tough without a schematic (and possibly much more).
  • Touchpad or controller board contaminated by overenthusiastic cleaning - if you recently power washed the oven (or even if you only use some spray cleaner), some may have gotten inside and shorted out the touchpad or controller.
  • Defective or damage touchpad - physical abuse is not a recommended technique for getting a microwave oven to cooperate. If there is any visible damage to the touchpad - the outer film is broken - it will probably need to be replaced.
Take care.

    Hello,

If the problem is the sensor, you will need to replace the sensor on the unit in other for your microwave oven to be in place again.

Please I need the wattage of GoldStar microwave Model ER-868 so I can heat a heat pad for a sick animal

Wattage really doesn't matter much for what you want to use it for. Start with 2 minutes and test. If it's not hot enough add 1 more minute

I have a goldstar microwave oven mfg during 1988. Model # ER-76IM. Can you tell me the wattage of this microwave.

I can't find any info on this model probably due to its age, but there should be a data plate or sticker located either (1) on the back, near the cord (2) side (3) inside back or side wall (4) on the door or door jamb of the oven. Failing this, that next step would be to contact Goldstar in the method of your choice from the webpage below:

I hope this helps & good luck!

Goldstar MV1501W not heating or turntable, light/display does wrk

micro switch is bad .remove top vent cover 4 screws, after removing plastic vent panel you will see 1 screw above display time window, remove this screw and lift up the complete button time control panel slightly and pull towards you to remove.there are 2 connections on this panel 1 is a 12 pin connector and a 2 pin power connection remove both put control panel aside.now there are 3 micro switches where the door pins close into the oven lock, remove 2 screws that hold the micro switch housing,on the bottom of housing you will see a small clip gently pull to the right and push back to remove .there are 2 switches on bottom of it and 1 on top. the 1 on top is normally open and closes when door is shut but like mine it stayed open and resulted in (light s display but no turntable)soon as i replaced upper microswitch it runs perfect.i hope this helps .MODEL MV1501W GOLDSTAR

Gold Star convection microwave model ER-930C

If you have a sentimental attachment to this microwave (lots of the older ones feel so much more "quality" than the flimsy throw away versions offered today), then you might want to pick up a service manual to diagnose your issue. Here is one being offered and it has a troubleshooting guide. http://www.analogalley.com/osccart/index.php?manufacturers_id=61
