This happens when the internal focus or zoom lens is off track, usually caused by impact and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it’s not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I’m a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. SOURCE: Sony DCR-HC20 displays E 61:10 in upper right corner, no zoom

I can simulate this fault E61:10 by pulling out the CCD ribbon cables. This is an error that is pointed to no signal from Camera CCD assembly. Very gently remove the screws for the LCD cover assembly and remove. If you look in the upper left corner you will notice a ribbon cable connection. There is one more connection that should be checked, and it is located in the top portion below the CCD assembly. Make sure that all ribbon cables are currently attached firmly. Take specail care in opening your camera.

I suspect an issue with the CCD and the associated image processing circuitry. Please consult a Sony Service Center to have the camcorder serviced. Thanks!

The most likely cause for this is a zoom or focus lens out of place or impaired in some way and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

Sony Handycam (DCR-SR47) creates MPEG-2 video, just convert it to QuickTime (.MOV or .MP4) video which you can import to Mac.

Dimage Z3 blurred zoom images

I don't think there's any problem. Simply, a longer zoom means that - without a faster shutter speed - there is an increased probability for camera shake. Additionally, cameras usually struggle with focus in longer zoom. To be sure that there isn't a fault, do this:

1) Place the camera on a tripod or other sturdy surface
2) For additional stability (and to avoid camera shake due to shutter button movement), select the self-timer
3) Focus and take the shot.
If it's still blurry, then yeah, there's a problem
