Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then…

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

What would make refrigerator not run no lights or anything

There is a good chance that in the wall a wire may have come off the plug. I would try plugging the fridge in somewhere else to see what happens. If that doesn't solve it there must be a bad connection from the plug end to the frige. I would pull the back off of the frige and inspect for loose wires following the power cord into the fridge

Hot door seal

Hi

There could be few reasons for your problem….
If your refrigerator is running too long or more than normal:
You may need to clean the condenser coils. This should be done about every 6 to 12 months. You can use a condenser cleaning brush, this comes in handy for cleaning hard to reach areas. Your refrigerator may be running too long, check the door gaskets for proper sealing, especially the bottom section. Clean the gasket surface where your door gaskets meets the metal with warm soapy water.
However there is a part of the condenser called the mullion loop that adds heat to keep moisture from building up and causing the door gaskets to stick. If it's too hot to the touch, first check your frige and freezer temps. You'll obviously know if the frige is too cold, but you may not know if the freezer is too cold. The freezer should be between 5-10 deg above zero. Any colder and the frige will have to work harder and would create more heat. Also check the condenser coils. If they are dirty it will prevent the frige from removing the heat properly. The condenser should be cleaned at least annually. Most friges have a condenser fan motor. Make sure the motor is running and the fan blades are clean. Most frdiges also have a cardboard type panel on the back at the bottom. That panel directs the air flow across the condenser and must be in place. If it's missing or damaged its need to be replaced.

Let us know if you have something more to ask else please accept the solution.

Whirlpool Wrn38rwg6 frige has decided to not cool properly

My first thought is it defrosting? Look into rear of the freezer and see if ice is building up on rear wall of freezer. If yes manually defrost and let me know what you find. If no I would want you to feel compressor for overheating or look and see if a fan has stopped working while compressor is running. Sea Breeze

Noisey fridge/faulty fan

Hi Fat head; the problem is not completly uncommon. what can happen is the fan gets something on it and becomes unballanced. Thi in turn wears the fans motor bushings out, and eventually ruins the unit. A couple hundred quid seems a bit steep to me, But I live in the U.S.A., and unless I am mistaken, the cost to have a repair person come, and do a service on an electrical appliance, is considerably higher in the U.K. So no, a couple hundred quid is not completly out of line. Best regards; HELP2DIY
