Question about Kodak i1220 Pass-Through Scanner

Image quality on scans from Kodak i1220- I've had my scanner for about three years, and I'm noticing a reduction in quality of some of the scans, despite the fact that I haven't changed anything. What could be the problem?

Check if the glass is scratched. If the scratches are more, you may need to change the glass. This happens over a period of time.

Need i1220 license

There is not a "license" to use a i1220 scanner. If you are referring to a license needed for Kodak Capture Pro software, then contact 1-800-822-1414 for assistance with acquiring a license.

Scanner fails to format image

Turn off your scanner. Exit the Smart Touch program.

If XP, navigate to this path: C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Smart Touch\[Scanner Model]

Windows 7 or 8: C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Local\Smart Touch\[Scanner Model]

Delete the "Sys" folder. Turn on the scanner. Re-open Smart Touch. You will see the Sys folder repopulate in the root folder.

I scanned one size of a page. Why I got the result is two pages including 1 page with content and one page is blank. How can I fix this?

Tell your scanning software to only scan the front of the page. The i1220 can scan both sides of the page with a single pass. That's what its doing (the blank page is the back of your scan).

Problems with Kodak i1220 Smart Touch software

Go into C:\programdata\ and remove the kds_kodak folder. It may ask you to skip files it can't delete. Just click skip for all of them (probably around 15 files). Then reboot your computer and you should be able to scan.

Kodak I1220 is connected but can not be started by button nor smart touch

update the driver and the smart touch driver from the kodak website. make sure that the scanner is not connected when you do this. if this does not resolve the problem, then contact the kodak scanner support call centre as this could be a problem deeper within the pc

Red and green lines through prints from a kodak

clean the scanner with anti static wipes and vacuum clean the scanner, if this does not work then call the kodak techs again and they can send a cleaning kit or a replacement scanner. the lines are caused by dust in the scanner
