Question about Honda Garden
The washers that you describe are made of teflon and are split to facilitate installation and/or allow expansion as they wear. These washers are actually seals and at times are used together with orings to seal high pressure. You should be able to replace washers with teflon tape available at most auto parts or Lumber center and examine orings carefully with magnify glass looking for cuts or rough edges. I believe that most guns were designed to be replaced instead of rebuilt because when water starts leaking, the metal parts of the gun where seals are used get cut similar to water faucet seat. When this happens, the seals will not work. Good luck
