Just bought whirpool WFS1071AW on weekend. Light on "water tap closed" lights up even though cold water tap is open. The only time we could get the machine to wash was to reset the program to cold wash. Does all the other wash program require hot water?

I have a front loading whirlpool machine WFS1071AW and a red light has come on indicating that I need to clean the pump. Could you tell me where the pump is because we were only givena basic chart when we purchased the machine.

CHECK HOSES FOR KINKS. EVEN THE SLIGHTEST KINK WILL ALERT THE SENSOR OF INSUFFICIENT WATER FLOW AND CAUSE INDICATOR LIGHT TO COME ON.
I HAD SAME PROBLEM WITH AN INSTALL AND A SLIGHT KINK IN COLD WATER HOSE WAS THE CAUSE

I have a WFS1071AW-7.5kg. It is stopping mid cycle and showing a red "Clean Pump" light on the front panel. Where is the pump and how do I clean it? Your help would be appreciated.

The pump is hidden below the removable kick plate at the bottom of the machine. Hold the plinth on either side and pul it downwards and outwards to remove it. The filter is unscrewed by turning anticlockwise.

This is covered in page 11 of your manual, a pathetically poor scanned PDF copy of which is supplied by whirlpool Australia if you go to this web address:

http://www.whirlpool.com.au/app.cnt/whr/au_AU/pageid/pgsrvifuhome001/DOCTYPE/IFU/DOCLANGUAGE/AU

Enter WFS1071AW As the commercial code and select language ENGLISH

Note: This model has no drain hose to get rid of residual water, suggest you tip the machine back 45 degrees and have a towel ready to catch any leaked water.

The manual is available from the Whirlpool Australia site: http://www.whirlpool.com.au/app.cnt/whr/au_AU/pageid/pgsrvifuhome001 . Enter the model number (WFS1071AW) in the box marked commercial code. Then select your language and click Search. The table of contents is starts on page 3 of the pdf.

I hope this helps.

This usually indicates a problem with the water supply to the washer.
Check the tap/s are fully turned on, check that there is no restrictio orr kinks in the hose/s.
Make sure you have good water pressure.

Hi my problem is that my whirlpool duet washer front loader model wfw9200sqa10 is giving me a code number F20 and i dont know what could be the problem please help.

i believe i ve already answered this query....
F20" is a water inlet problem. This indicatesthat you have no water or insufficient water supply. What Whirlpoolrecommends to do is unplug the washer and check your water inletscreens to ensure they are not clogged, check the inlet hoses forkinks, and to make sure your taps are turned on (duh! I know it soundsstupid, but I've seen it before).

To check the water inlet screens you will need to turn off the water supply and disconnect the hoses where they connectto the back of the washer. The inlet screens are located inside the tapfittings and sometimes will collect with sediment and rust depending onyour water source. Some hoses also have sediment screens. Check them aswell if you have them. Use cotton swabs to clean the screens, thoroughly.

Checking the hoses and taps is self-explanatory. Thewater supply coming into the washer should be at least 10-25 psi.Insufficient water pressure can cause problems with slow fills and/orerror codes due to insufficient pressure. If you haven't had anyproblems before, I would suspect dirty inlet screens and/or a inletvalve failure.

If you need to replace the water inlet valve,searspartsdirect.com carries the part. Just type in your model numberin the Search menu and look for item #1 under the "Dispenser Parts" The part runs about $52.00.

WFS1071AW is my type of whirlpool front loader

Hello baud Welcome,
You said the water entry into the machine is fine with nothing blocking it. But you keep getting the red light on for "water tap closed". At one point the water did start flowing in but soon stopped and turn on the warning light again. Please suggest how to fix it??

I believe this sounds like the screens are dirty and stopping water flow so it shuts down!
Dry all of the below suggestions.

Washer displaying code message and or tone sounds
“F20” (Water Inlet Problem—no water or insufficient
water supply)
First:
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug
washer or disconnect power.Leave power off for 5 minutes. This will reset the system!
Check the following:
Are water faucets completely turned on?
*****Are screens at inlet hose connection to washer clogged?
Remove hose from washer an clean screens at water inlet!

Are water inlet hoses kinked?
Are water inlet hoses frozen?
Plug in washer or reconnect power. Re-select cycle and press
START. If the problem remains, call for service.

Let me know how you do.
Thank You Huuum

Washing cycle starts and takes hours even for short cycle.

Try checking for good water supply.
Pull out detergent tray and check for good water supply during filling.
if poor filling-
Try checking the hoses.
Turn taps off, disconnect from machine, place hose end in sink, turn tap on and check for good water flow.
if the hose has a red indicator in the side of the hose (end which is fitted to the tap) - Red indicator is a failed hose.(for models with Water Stop hose type "B")

"F20" is a water inlet problem. This indicates that you have no water or insufficient water supply. What Whirlpool recommends to do is unplug the washer and check your water inlet screens to ensure they are not clogged, check the inlet hoses for kinks, and to make sure your taps are turned on (duh! If you need to replace the water inlet valve, searspartsdirect.com carries the part. Just type in your model number in the Search menu and look for item #1 under the "Dispenser Parts" heading (part #8182862). The part runs about $52.00.

I hope this helps you. If you need further assistance, please post back with any questions/concerns you may have.
