Hi,
This is because the belt might have become lose. When in spin mode the motor rotates really fast which slips off from the wheel in which it is mounted. Please replace with the correct size of belt and this wont happen again.Check with the previous belt there will size number printed on it.Get the same size belt and fix it.
Thank You

Run A diagnostic and see what error codes u get? the lack of spin is usually a result of a bad clutch or tranny problem. Loose belt if its belt driven and not direct drive. Also on a direct drive the motor coupler may be bad ( which connects motor to tranny) may be defected but when it goes u usually dont get much agitation either.

Belt has come off

It may not be the belt. Hopefully it is though. Unplug the machine. Remove the 5 or 6 screws holding the back plate on and remove it. There will be a circular spindle in front of you (called a spider). The belt goes around this and the motor underneath it.

Drive belt on hotpoint wm56 keeps coming off when machine goes on fast spin. I have fitted a new belt but it still keeps happening.

Make sure belt is reasonably tight, and it is in the center of the drum pulley, if it still comes off, then I would suspect that the drum bearings are worn, or the drum is running out of alighnment, or the motor bearings are worn, if it is noisy when you spin the drum by hand, then the bearings have definately failed.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

My kenmore won't pump out the water. what could

couple of possible reasons and this will vary by brand of machine...lid switch could be bad...some machines will wash or agitate with lid up but will not spin unless lid is closed..others will not do nothing with lid up....some brands will not spin if the water level switch can detect water in the tub...this means your machine didnt pump the water out of the machine so it could spin couple of reasons for this 1 bad pump or bad pump motor(some machines have a pump that is driven by a drifferent motor than the one that drives the transmission)usually these machines use the water level switch to activate(turn on/off) the pump when the machine goes into spin cycle... some machines the pump wil come on and stay on for the entire spin cycle...some machines the belt will be bad and you just need a new belt....first thing to do is see if raising the lid will turn the machine off when it is in wash cycle if it does not..then it will in spin cycle..if the machine will not work in spin cycle the lid switch will be the reason why..
