I believe that this is a communication issue ..and i advice to remove the driver and software that manage he printer from the computer by going to control panel add remove software ..and remove from the list any software related with the printer ..and after that reinstall them from the disk ..clean ...
Sometimes automatic updates are made and they are not the best choice for the specific case..and mess up the communications ..
If there isnt anything wrong with the printer ..this should fix it ..
A printer reset will be advised too ..see in the menu if there are any available ..or take a look in the menu for best solutions for defaulting the settings to the factory optimal ..

The more modern printers in the Statslab can sometimes clarify their error messages - they tell you this by displaying ``For help press ?'' on their screens. As a general rule, the printer will flash the orange maintenance light if it needs attention.
READY
The printer is ready to print.
PAUSED
The printer is paused. Press the Stop key to switch it back to Ready mode.
SLEEP MODE ON
The printer has gone into an energy-saving mode.
WARMING UP
The printer is starting up again after going into energy-saving mode. If you wait it should print out your job.
PROCESSING...
The printer is busy printing or thinking about a print job.
LOAD TRAY X
The printer is out of paper. Refill its tray. If this does not work, someone may have been fiddling with the control panel options, and you should email me if you are unsure how to fix this.
JAM IN LOCATION
There is paper stuck inside the printer. Open the printer cover and carefully remove the paper jam. You may have to open the back of the printer or remove the tray or the toner cartridge.

The printer is running low on ink of the specified colour. No action is required, as printing can continue until the ink runs out.
REPLACE COLOUR CARTRIDGE
The printer has run out of ink of the specified colour. Email me and I will change the cartridge.

Printing pdf's, margins are wrong and cut off on top and left.

Hi

Choose the correct paper size of your printer for scanning and printer because I believe you select the incorrect paper size and it cut the pdf scanned file.

Go to printer icon, right click mouse and choose printing preferences and choose the correct paper size. Then go to scanning properties and choose the correct paper size.

My printer refuses to print. The Red Status light came on so I checked and found there was a paper jam - cleared that. Can get green light to come on if I press the job cancel button but still cannot get...

Perform a Factory Reset

Turn the printer power switch OFF on the right side of the printer. Check that the front cover is closed.

Turn the printer power switch ON while holding down the GO button until the Toner, Drum, and Paper LEDs are lit.

Release the GO button. All LEDs will be off.

Press the GO button 8 times. The Ready LED will flash briefly while the printer is reset. After the printer is reset the Ready LED will be lit.

Print a Test Print Page

Print the Print Settings by pressing the GO button three times.

- If the Print Settings pages do not print, check for alarm lights on the printer. Clear the printer error before trying to print again.

- If the Print Settings pages print, the problem is isolated to printing from your computer. Verify the printer cable connects from the back of the computer directly to the printer. If the cable has become disconnected, loose, or connects through another device, the printer may not be able to print.

Check the Printer Driver Properties

Click Printer at the top of the window again. Make sure that Pause Printing and Use Printer Offline are not check marked. If either setting is marked, click on the check mark to remove it.

Click Properties from this Printer menu list.

Click the Ports tab. Verify the correct port is selected (LPT1 is using a parallel cable and USB is using a USB cable). Remember to click Apply if you select another port.

Click the General tab and Print Test Page button. The Windows test page should now print.

- If the Windows test page prints, try printing from a program.

Printer says to re-insert paper face down.

You must have the default printer settings changed to "double-sided" printingor "print on Both sides".
Check in your printer properties: 'Right click' the printer icon. Select "properties", "Printing preferences", "finishing", un-check "print on both sides" (these options vary slightly by printer model, so just check around on the different buttons).
That's my best guess. :)

New cartridge won't print

  1. Make sure you removed the tape from the ink cartridge.
  2. Press the <Menu> button on the printers operation panel.

  3. Press the left [<] or right [>] arrow buttons to select [MAINTENANCE].

  4. Press the <Set> button.

  5. Press [<] or [>] to select the cleaning setting you want. Select [HEAD CLEANING] for normal print head cleaning. Select [HEAD REFRESHING] for deep print head cleaning.

Note: [HEAD REFRESHING] uses more ink than [HEAD CLEANING], so perform [HEAD REFRESHING] only when necessary.

  6. Press <Set>.

  7. Print a Nozzle Check Pattern and perform at least two Head Refreshing if the pattern is not correct.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Re dfx -9000

Please perform the following steps to ensure your printer is physically functioning.

1. Turn the printer off and disconnect the interface cable.
2. Load plain, single part tractor paper into the printer.
3. Press the LOAD/EJECT button while turning on the printer.

NOTE: The self test prints over several pages. After the first or second page has printed, press PAUSE and turn the printer off.

If this self test prints correctly, then the printer hardware is functioning correctly.

>Try printing from other applications.
>Check cables as they can cause communication errors.
>Re-install the driver.
>Go to support.epson.com for more information & documentation.
