Question about HP Pavilion a620n (PC028A) PC Desktop

I am asking this question for a friend of mine who has lost the use of his computer and has no way of getting in touch with you. He has a pavillion A620N and cannot get it to start. He says that all he gets is long beeps. Any idea what might be wrong. He lives in Antigua and the island has just had massive storms because of hurricane Earl.

Please specify the pattern of the beeps (like continuous long beeps or long beeps followed by short beeps) and also the exact number of beeps. Also, let us know whether any changes were made to the system like added or removed any hardware device.

Continuous long beeps usually indicate memory errors i.e; there is a problem with the installed RAM modules.

The RAM module needs to be replaced to resolve this issue. Also, please install a new RAM module having the same specifications as the existing one.

    In this case, the problem is due to memory error. So, the RAM module needs to be replaced.

    This PC supports DDR1-333 SDRAM (PC2700 MB/sec)  
    Maximum allowed 1 GB (2 x 512 MB)

You should be able to get a cord at any "big box" store - Lowes, Best Buy, etc. Take a picture of the computer where the cord plugs in and take it with you to the store. Tell the clerk you need a power cord to fit this recepticle and show the picture. These are common cords for computers and other devices. Let us know how you fair.

I recently bought an ipod touch from a friend of mine unfortunately he forgot the password lock to get access to it i dont own any computer and would like to know if unlocking it or restoring it is...

Here is some solutions

Take that to a apple store and have them reset it for you. Most people would then say I do not have a apple store around me. To prevent a negtive feedback on this one here is another question does your friend own a computer? Well you need a computer to get this done!

There is no other legal solution here unless you take it to some guy with a computer that will be able to reset this for you.

When the power is returned after a power outage it can cause a power surge and damage electronic equipment such as a computer. This is a reason to install a surge protection power board and connect your computer equipment to a surge protection board.
The switch mode power supply may be faulty and replacing it may get your computer operating again.
If you cannot DIY then ask a friend or take it to a computer repair shop.

It's a hardware issue. The computer 'post' beeps will help identify teh problem. See this or this site for more information on post beep codes to help him work out what's the cause.
