I looked at the user manual for your model. E9 code shows a different description. Your description refers to E2 code. Please confirm if this is correct.

Assuming there is no water overflow in the dishwasher, the likely problem is the float switch at the base might be stuck.
It will look like this located in the base. You will need to push it a few times to check if it is stuck.

If no difference then it needs to be replaced.

Hope this helps fix the problem.

Check the float sensor. Some are a finger looking thing in the bottom of the dishwasher. Others are a circular or retangular plastic device. Food particle sometimes build up on these and the either don't move up and down with the water level changes or.. in the case of finger sensors.. some of the holes are clogged so it fills up with water but does not drain out so the machine thinks it is still filled with water.

Look for a water level sensor or float.

Sensor... Clean the holes. (finger like)

Float Clean the float stem area as best you can with a thin rag. It should make a microswitch click as you gently lift it to the full up position and again as you lower it.

If you still get the E9 error after doing this then either the sensor is bad or the float switch has failed.

I think you can resolve this yourself. Give it a go.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

There is a remote possibility that you could have a drain problem. In other words the unit did not drain out due to a motpr pump impeller problem / drain hose / air- gap / garbage disposal / sink port blockage. It is possible but, I would think that if this were the case you would have mentioned that also did not drain well or did not at all.

My Videocon Fully automatic top load washing machine (Digi Dolphin Dlx 7 kg) gives E9 error and stop functioning

Hi

E9 means the water level sensor is defective or the pipe connected to it is faulty.Generally error E9 means a problem with your water pressure sensor. do you have water in the tub? Check the sensor by pulling the hose attached to the bottom part of the tub and blow on it and test the terminals of the sensor if it will close or open.

Keeps showing check water

As you know E9 is linked to the water inlet problem.

There are two scenarios here - 1) Are you using the Aqua-Stop safety system? If this is trigerring then it can shut the inlet water. The reason it can trigger is if the flood device located at the base of the dishwasher under the tub is seeing water. Now it is possible the 2 weeks wait for the technician caused the water to dry out and the dishwasher worked on his arrival. But the leak could have started again when it worked once again. So you could have a leaky hose or the door gasket.

2) going by the description of the error codes in this smeg document, I can foresee the error E9 is linked to the water level system which is not able to detect the level required for the dishwasher to start wash cycle. Possible cause is gunk around the sensor that detects the water level in the tub.
Refer a possible solution reported at this forum site.

What I am not clear is why is the dishwasher not doing anything now when you press the start button. Maybe try one thing at a time.

Please post a comment to confirm which way it progressed.

Error code E9

High pitched noise is from a very high CO2 level. Adjust the gas pressure to stay above 11" w.c. and have a gas technician with a calibrated CO2 analyzer adjust the CO2 levels.
