There could be a short in the speaker wires. Check the wire at both ends and look to see if any bare wire is touching. It shuts off because there's a thermal protection, so it's heating up for some reason. Bring it in for service

My Samsung dvd/vhs player will not stay on. Says hello, then bye a couple seconds later

Sounds like a bad power switch. When you push the power button, it will initiate the unit to turn on, but if the switch does not keep the power on to the unit when you let go of the power switch, then the unit goes into shut down mode. Then the unit will display good bye. I would have the power switch looked at first.

Tip

Force Eject

If a disc gets stuck in the recorder, there a few steps to try before the problem becomes service-related:

1. Power the unit off (so it shows the clock), then simply press the Open/Close button. The unit should power on and attempt to eject the disc.
2. If the above doesn't work - power it off again, then press and hold the STOP and CH UP button on the recorder itself together and hold them down until the unit powers up. This is called a force eject. If this doesn't work (usually if it's not going to work the recorder will simply come on momentarily then loop back into "bye" and go back to the clock), there is one last method to try.
3. Unplug the unit for 30 seconds. Press and hold the same buttons as above as you plug it in. After it performs the self-check "ooooo" across the screen it should do the force eject. If not, the unit requires service to be repaired and possibly the drive replaced.

I feel totally stupid asking this but I was recently given an MP3 player GoGear VIBE 4GB and I can't figure how to turn it off. HELP!

The putton on the left of the unit that you used to turn it on with. Hold this down for about 15 seconds and the unit will say "Bye" on the screen and turn off.

What error code is f 60? is it repairable?

F60 error is associated with a failure of one of the main circuit boards inside the unit.

Unfortunately it may not be economic to repair unless you could source a failed unit of Ebay and are confident in electronics work.

One thing you should try is a factory reset which although unlikely to resolve the error will do no harm and there is always an offchance that it will help.

To do this;

1) Flip down the front panel to reveal the channel buttons at the front of the unit itself.

2) With the recorder on press and hold the channel up and down buttons at the same time until it says "Bye" on the display.

3) Wait 10 seconds before powering up and try the unit to see if it has helped.

Please do leave a vote for the solution. Thanks.

Try doing the following:

1. Find the reset button on the unit and press it down for 10 seconds.

2. Disconnect the battery for at least 30 minutes then reconnect.

These simple options usally work. If not you have a faulty unit and its possible that it has been damaged by condensation from the a/c. Ive seen it a good many times especially in Honda's.

GPX ML648B Will not hold charge

The Player gets it's charge from the USB port. I would recommend plugging your Player in and leave your computer on overnight.
If your player still does not retain a charge, I would contact the manufacturer.

Endless loop

Mine did this (on a Ram disk) but I was able to push eject before the dvd tried to read the disk. I had unplugged it overnight, then once plugged back in immediately pushed eject. Once the disk was out it stopped going into recovery mode.
Hope it helps. Good Luck.
