Canon PIXMA MP240 All-In-One InkJet Printer Logo
Posted on Sep 03, 2010

I can't change the ink cartridges because they won't shift to the centre when the top is lifted (they sit at the right hand side at the moment, and out of my reach). Meanwhile, the alarm, black and color lights are all showing orange, and the error message is showing. How can I get the cartridges to shift to the middle? I have a CANON PIXMA MP240

How to remove drum and ink

Open the front door, latch is in the middle on top front, swing the door down.
The toner cartridge sits inside the drum unit, you must take the all drum unit out before taking the toner cartridge out.
You can see the toner cartridge sitting right inside the printer (after opening the door), lift up the "basket" that the toner cartridge is sitting in and after you lift pull it out, and lay it on a table, make sure not to expose it to the sun. Unlatch the toner cartridge by pushing on the tab on both side of the toner cartridge and lift the toner cartridge out of the drum unit ("basket").

I changed all the ink cartridges and my printer says cartridge is missing or damaged. Went to the store and bought another ink cartridge but it still says the same thing?

Lift the top of the printer as if you are going to replace cartridges. When the print head comes into view you should see a grey lever on the right hand side. Lift it and reseat it. That worked for me!

How to change the ink cartridge in a Canon iP1900 printer please

1•Protect your desk, printer stand or work surface by placing an old newspaper in front of or next to the printer. The newspaper will provide you with a place to work without getting ink anywhere you don't want it. It seems as though no matter how careful or neat you are, a little bit of ink always manages to escape when replacing an ink cartridge.
•2
Prepare the new ink cartridge for installation. Remove the replacement cartridge for your Canon printer from all of its packaging. You may need scissors to remove the heavy wrapper. Leave the protective orange cap or tape in place for now. Set the new cartridge aside on the newspaper.
•3
Remove the old ink cartridge from the Canon printer. With the printer on, open the front door or panel of the printer. Wait a second or two and the ink cartridge holder should move to the opening where it is accessible. If it does not move, shut the door, turn the printer off for a moment, turn it back on and try again. Lift the small lever that secures the ink cartridges within their holder. On most Canon printers, it is colored green and located on the right side of the ink cartridge holder. Gently lift the old ink cartridge out of the printer.
•4
Place the new ink cartridge in the printer. Remove the plastic cap or tape protecting the ink cartridge, being careful not to touch the black and gold "sensor" area of the cartridge. Gently but firmly push the new cartridge into the empty slot left where you removed the old ink cartridge. The label should be facing outward. You should feel the cartridge pop into place. Then push the lever back down that you lifted in Step 3. Close the printer door. Use paper towel or wet wipes to clean any ink from your hands.

Epson sx 205, can't change the cartridge

With the power on and the lid up, click on the red stop (left panel). You will notice the cartridges move to the left and then they come back and stop halfway. Afterwards you should be able to slide the cartridges manually with your hand to the larger area on the right where you could do the cartridge change. Once you've moved it to that area just the lift the cover where the arrow is.
