This is a easy fix and very common problem. It is caused by toner from the toner cartridge dropping onto toner supply sensors.(The last two digits of the sub code 0103 denotes which sensor (03 in this case is the black toner supply sensor).

Fix open front cover remove waste toner container by releasing blue locking lever on the right.(point of consideration, when removing waste toner container be careful not to shake or tilt container as if full can spill over into full detection window causing 'waste toner full message'). Then you will need to remove the cover directly above waste toner container, there are 3 screws one at the very bottom of cover roughly in the middle, one top left of cover and one under a cover on the right of cover (to remove the right side screw press down on top of the small cover whilst pulling, this cover will pop off allowing you to get screw out.) now you can remove this cover, underneath this cover you should see a circuit board with lots of wires. Now remove this circuit board and remembering where all the wire connections are and the plastic circuit board support where the circuit board was attached too, allowing visual of all four sensors and ease of cleaning with a blower brush. Re-assemble the copier and reboot machine. Job done.

It says drum error but the cart and drum is replaced with new and still can't get past the drum error message.

Hi There!
What you can do to clear the Drum Error message is to clean the corona wire.
  • Open front cover of the machine and remove the drum & toner cartridge assembly.
  • Remove the toner from the drum and gently shake the toner cartridge from side to side put it on a piece of paper to avoid scattering the toner.
  • Theres a blue tab on the upper left side of the drum, slide it from left to right, right to left about 5-6 times don't forget to put the blue tab back to it's home position(where the arrow is).
  • Put the toner back into the drum make sure it will click into place.
  • Reinstall the drum and toner assembly back into the machine and close the front cover.
  • LCD should display the date & time.

If you continue to receive the message try resetting the drum counter by doing the following:
  • Open the front cover
  • Press the Options key on the control panel. The display will show "REPLACE DRUM - 1.YES 2.NO".
  • Press 1 to reset the drum count.
  • Close the front cover
Hope this helps!

Toner life end

Try this:

Open the cover, leaving everything inside. Press Options, then *00 to reset the fax.

If that doesn't work:

Open the front cover and remove the cartridge and drum. Turn off the fax. On the right-hand side of the cartridge, there is a round hole that is covered with a clear plastic or glass. Cover that hole up with tape, put the cartridge back in the drum, and put them back into the fax, and turn it back on.

the cartridge isn't the problem normally when you close the front door there are switchs under the cover that control things like sensing the toner cartridge. most likly one of those switch levers are out of place. to check them your will have to remove the top cover to do this you will have to take the screws out in the back of the machine as well as the ones in the front covers when you have the door open. then the top cover will lift off and the lever and switchs are on the right side facing the front of the machine. with the top cover off you can close the door and see if the switch is being activated or if there is parts floating in the top of the machine. hope this helps.

Make sure that you are not using generic supplies. Using generic supplies or supplies that have been refilled will cause the unit to give false errors. There is white piece of plastic inside the semi circular opening, if you do not see a white semi circular opening it is either a generic toner or starter toner and you will need to replace the toner with a authentic toner. You may try this also: 1. Remove the drum and toner, separate the drum and toner and then rock the toner from side to side. 2 Put the drum and toner back together and clean the corona wire ten times. 3 Put the drum and toner back inside the machine and close the cover, if you still have toner life end try this: a Open the front cover b press the options key, the LCD will say "replace drum?" c press the start key. and then press 10 on your dial pad. the display should say accepted for about 2 seconds and then say cover open. d close the cover, if the display still has toner life end, you will need to replace the toner
