Question about Car Audio & Video
Protection blinks because there is a fault condition. Check the wiring at the back of the amp and stereo. Ensure that the draw from the amp is not excessive, in case use a capacitor.
If that does not solve the problem, it means that there is an internal fault, in that case the amp must be disassembled and tested to find the problem.

The obvious thing to check is incorrect output wiring. Remove all connections from the output terminals(speaker connections. If the protection light still comes on, measure supply voltage and remote turn-on voltage(should be more than 12V, less than 16 Volt). Measure earth. Voltage measurement between amp earth connection and battery negative should be no more than 0.5V.
With voltages correct and no speakers connected and the unit still does not turn on it is faulty and needs to be sent for repair. You could attempt a repair yourself, the most common fault is a blown power IC which causes a short circuit on the output. If you dont have any electronics training I would advise against attempting a repair yourself.
If voltages are correct, no speakers connected and the unit powers up then check your wiring and speakers for short circuit. Also check the speaker impedance. 2ohm speakers can be connected in stereo mode. 4 ohm in mono(bridged) mode. Do not connect speakers in parallel. See diagram. The correct wiring is shown for connecting single speaker per channel and multiple speaker per channel. The resultant impedance for connecting the 2 speakers in series is 4 ohm which is correct as your speaker impedance should always be more than the amp output impedance.

First of all check the speakers cables for short circuit (using a multimeter would be gratefull) or the amplifier / player for overheating.
In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.
If you are satisfied, accept my solution.
