Error occurred during start operation(80010017)

Press and hold power the unit will come on beep twice then shut off. Next press and hold the power until the unit beeps again then release it. That should take you to the recovery menu. Then you can format your Playstation. Also you can put a new hard drive in to format in instead.

Thomson r21dg8gbd when i connect the input av line, automatic going standby mode

Hi- What happens is that Playstation is trying to figure out what you want to use A/V -Component or HDMI. So Try this.
With the back switch in the on position and your A/V cable plugged in. Press and hold the Power button until you hear 1 beep. This will auto-detect what video port you are using from your PS3. You should see the screen pop up and hear the PS3 starting and menu should pop up. Hope this helps.

CANNOT START THE CORRECT HARD DISK WAS NOT FOUND

To solve this problem follow these steps :

Step 1. Turn your PS3 off into standby mode (red light on)

Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep when you first press it, then beep again 5 seconds later, then beep once more and turn off into standby again. Release the power button.

Step 3. Press and hold the power button again. It will beep when you first press it, then 5 seconds later beep again and then there will be 2 quick beeps together. Release the power button when you hear these 2 beeps.

Step 4. The PS3 will start up asking you to connect your controller via USB and press the PS button. Do this and then continue to the next step.

Step 5. The recovery menu will load. Select 3 "Restore File System". This will rewrite the hard drive system and hopefully get your PS3 working again. You shouldn't lose any save game data but that is not guaranteed. Ignore any messages about the hard drive being corrupt.

If the above method does not work try steps 1-4 again but select option 4 from the recovery menu. If that doesn't work as a last resort select option 5. Selecting this option WILL erase your data!

I hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

I was gaming on my PS3 and the whole system went down. Now

Hi.

Right, you need to hold down the power button untill this happens:

BEEP!

BEEP! BEEP!

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

The recovery screen should appear. Choose the desired option.

try rebuilding the database and the file system in recovery consol

to get to the recovery consol press and hold the power button when ps3 is in standby mode(red light) till you hear a double beep. sometimes the ps3 does a beep then another beep and goes back into standby thsi is fine just release the power and quikly press and hold it again till you get double beep.

like on my 80g system it goes like this

ps3 standby...press hold power.......beep .........beep........stanby again....release and hold power again.......beep .........double beep...release power now you should be in recovery menu.
