Same problem. First my wireless was intermittent, then the power went to battery, now it wont do anything but sound like it's is turning on. Called HP several times during warranty time frame. 3 month ago they told me it was the motherboard, and that they were having similar problems in the Compag 6000 series, and the HP Pavilion dv9000 series. They were sending me a shipping box for free, and the fix was free. Nothing ever came, no results. I called 3 more times, talked to 3 different individuals, last one told me that the warranty had expired and I could send it in to have it fixed for a minimum of $300. What a joke.

When pluged into outlet fans spins and doesnt stop, wont boot

Fan spinning hard is usually a CPU issue.
If you've made any hardware changes to your computer, undo them. This happened to me when I was trying to upgrade my Processor (CPU) and I had the wrong kind.

Computer wont stay on once power button is pushed

yes unfortunately with this series of laptops it is VERY common for the motherboard to fail because of something called an NVIDIA chipset so if you are not hearing any fans or hard drive activity for more than 3 to 5 sec than im sorry to say that this is what it is but you can however get new motherboards on ebay for a fair price! i am sorry and i wish you the best of luck.

Hp pavilion tx2000 screen stays black after power up

There are several things that can cause this. Basically your laptop freezes during POST (power on self test). This happens when one or several hardware components do not pass through the test. It can be RAM, processor, motherboard. Not so likely but still possible because of a failing hdd, cd drive or even touch pad (I had this once on a Toshiba A45 laptop). So if this laptop is still under warranty it is definitely the case when manufacturer should fix the issue. If it is not under warranty it would be hard to determine the problem without testing your system and each of its components.

Hp pavilion a465c desktop which will not boot

Make sure the power supply switch on the back is set to 115v, its normally a red switch but could be black.

Once you do that see if you can turn on the computer and get video.

If not then with the computer turned off, take out the memory sticks and reseat them one at a time in each slot one at a time and try turning on the computer to see if you get video. If you still don't get video then try taking out the CPU and reseating it back into its socket properly. At the same time make sure there is no dust or dirt on the cpu or in the socket.

Try again and see if you get video. If you don't get any video this time then disconnect everything and only have power going to the motherboard. If you do this and you still don't have video then the motheboard is bad and would need to be replaced.

These machines have a terrible overheating problem! You will have to clean the fan opening and, put sylicon grease on the heat pipe and, heatsink that covers the cpu
