Question about Midland WR-100 Weather/RDS Radio
I HAVE A WR-100 AD IT FLASHES CHECK RECIPITION ALL THE TIME AND WEHAD STROMS WITH TORNADO WARNINGS. I NEED SOME ANSWERS PLEASE. IT HAS ALWAYS DONE THIS.
Be sure to check your SAME codes. When I received mine, it was new in the box, but had SAME codes for another state pre-programmed into the unit. You can get the codes from Midland website.

The WR-100 is slightly smarter than the average basic weather radio and therefore has a fair amount of programming loaded into it's firmware. (for good or bad)
It's not impossible for a power failure or spike to cause the internal processor to become confused every once and a while.
You may need to perform a full reset.
Remove the power adapter, remove the batteries and then press and hold the "WEATHER / SNOOZE" bar to bleed off any remaining charge in the capacitors and then plug the AC adapter back in.
Install fresh or known good batteries.
You've now essentially "rebooted" your radio and hopefully it will now function correctly again.
The only drawback is that you will have to reset any custom programming. As nifty as SAME technology is, I rarely use the function.
