Question about Fujitsu M4099D/FI-4990C Scanners

Open Question

Fujitsu M4990C I am getting the "Frontside background changeover function overrun" error, the same one mentioned in a previous issue. I have replaced the frontside changeover solenoid and sensor. Unfortunatly still getting this error. During further testing the scanner now hangs before scanning the first page. The hopper raises and right before in normally starts feeding pages the hopper drops half way down and the scanner hangs with "Scanning" on the LCD panel. It does this in test mode disconnected from the PC as well. Any ideas or recommendations on this would be appreciated? Thank you..

did you change your scan resoulution? The quality of your scans will determine how slow it will pass through. another thing to check is weather it is scanning both sides, another option in your scanner properties.

SOURCE: the fujitsu fi-5110C won't scan all pages just

Hi,

Please follow the information provided below:

If all the pages are being fed through ADF and if image format is TIFF, then you may require another application to view the multi page TIFF image. If you're using ScandAll 21 or ScandAll Pro application for scanning, you have to choose multi page scan option in Batch Scan Setting. Please follow the help contents provided in the scanning application.

Hope the above information is helpful. Please revert if you have any doubt.

Fujitsu Fn key stuck laptop PC Laptops

The Function keys can be usually disabled by a manufacturer provided program, in the control panel.
You can also probably download a replacement from Fujitsu.
Fujitsu America Support
If it is a hardware problem, it should be coming up as a keyboard error on start up, it will not say which key is stuck, so this is probably a software issue.
The manual is listed below for the function key use.

Hi,

When a background switching malfunction occurs, "F" and "4" will display alternately on the function number display panel of the scanner.

2 Are the cables between the Control PCA and the BW Motor damaged? Or are the connectors connected correctly?

3 Is the white reference work properly? If not, then replace the BW Motor.Perform background changeover test.
4 Is the OPT Unit installed correctly? Check ADF (Front) and ADF (Back)
5 Replace the Control PCA and see if the error is resolved.
6 Replace the OPT Unit and see if the error is resolved.

Fi4990C

When the scanner scans the first image it will bring in via a set of solenoids a background white Reference metal flap for both rear and front cameras.
The above error comes about when the solenoids are sticking or they have magnetised themselves.
1.Clean the Solenoids.
if scanner still errors .
2. Replace solenoids.

Fujitsu 4860c scanner error

There are 2 sensors on the background unit(Front) SF1.5 and SF 2

Both sensors look like black boxes. SF2 is nearest the reading glass and SF1.5 is below it. Make sure both are clean. There are also tests you can run in test mode to recalibrate the sensors, if that doesn't work you have to replace it.
