Question about Kenmore 40494 / 40495 / 40499 Electric Single Oven
After cooking a meal in the oven, I opened the open door and there was
a loud pop, now i have no power.
Sounds like it could be one of a few things:
The Fuse - Check this first. Have you a electrical safety cut-off switch box? Check if the kitchen appliances switch has tripped.
The heater element - you'll be able to tell if there are any bulges or blows on the element.
The transformer - most appliances have a built-in power transformer. Yours may have overloaded.
The PCB - This would be just plain bad. It's the clever chip that controls everything and it's expensive to replace.
If you have a phone number on the appliance for a 5-year free parts warranty; I would take it out. Then you only pay about £90 for the service.
