My Sub-Zero side-byside freezer is at 35 degrees and says "vacuum condenser". What does it mean and what can I do?

That's an excessive run code. Is the freezer door frame hot? D you clean your condense and id the condenser fan motor running?

Have you cleaned the coils?

It is perfectly normal for the refr door on a side by side Subzero to stick out a little further than the freezer door. That light could mean several things. If you have vacuumed the condenser then you should call a repairman to look at it.

The condenser is the 'radiator' located under the unit near the compressor. If it's clogged it will cause this. Make sure, also, that the fan at the condenser is operating.

If you've not yet cleaned the condenser, do so with a vacuum both sucking, and then blowing, to clean it well. BE READY FOR A DUSTY MESS!!

The condensor is usually located under the fridge. You should be able to remove the grill in the front to get to it.

check the fan that runs between the freezer and the fridge --check fan for ice blockage -debris-or damage / clean or clear blockage --if not running test wiring and connections as well as motor /repair or replace //also check fan damper is not frozen or blocked its flap that opens and closes for air to flow //----ur fridge side is cooled from the the freezer side the cold air is blown in from the freezer if fan or damper is not working correctly than fridge is usually warm and freezer is working properly

Its an indication that your compressor is running hotter than normal due to a dust/hair clogged condenser coi. Remove the machine compartment cover on the top. This is usually held in place with two 12" long spring clips, sometimes its held in place with two screws, the former will tilt out by hand, the latter will not. Look at the outer side of the condenser coil, opposite from the compressor(s) and the fan motor. is it thick with dust and pet hair? If you can see any aluminum shining, its probably not that bad, and i would then check to see if the condenser fan motor is running. This fan motor pulls in cooler air from your kitchen, across the condenser coil, through the fan itself, then blows it further across the compressor(s). If this fan is not blowing, the compressors wont get cooled, and prematurely shut off during refrigeration cycle. If this fan is blowing, and condenser is cleared, you have more serious problems, and i would recommend you have an Expert Sub-Zero Refrigerator Repair service inspect and diagnose your problem

clean your condenser coils. located in the top part of the fridge. unplug the unit before service. vaccum the condenser. if after 2 or 3 weeks the vaccum condenser comeback is really posible that you have an evaporator freon leak. in the fridge side

Check a Condenser, if it dirty and full of dust and lint - clean it with soft brush vacuum, it's behind the grill with Sub-Zero logo on it. Right hand side usually

Look on your sub zero for more model numbers. I have found some information indicating that the refrigerator thermostat may be the problem but need those numbers to confirm. Thanks, Sea Breeze
