Take out the card and look for a small switch on the side of it. Make sure it is unlocked.

If this helps please vote for my solution.

How to unlock a photo in camara

The protect function allows a user to protect a picture from accidental deletion. To unprotect a picture on your camera, scroll to the protected picture that you want to delete, then press the Menu button (the button to the right of the Play button.) Scroll down the menu and you should come to an option that allows you to Protect/Unprotect the picture. Since your picture is currently protected, deselect that option. You should then be able to delete the picture normally.

Alternatively, you could also format the memory card, however this deletes ALL photos and data you have on the memory card. If you are trying to completely clear the memory, this is the best way. After turning on your camera, simply press the Menu button, scroll to Setup, then scroll down to Format. Select Format, it will ask you if you want to format the memory card, or the camera's built-in memory. Format whichever one you want to clear, if you are using a memory card then your pictures are stored on the memory card. It will take a few seconds to format.

Hope this helps.

If you want to delete ALL your pictures, the easiest and best way is to format the card. In fact, the card should be formatted each time you finish downloading your pictures to your computer. FixYa is full of people asking how to retrieve pictures from cards that haven't been formatted regularly.

Try to remove first the memory card of your camera. After you remove the card you can see a small button at the side of the memory card. Just slide the small button to unprotected. Insert your memory card back to your camera and try to delete pictures.

Can not get disk write protection to go off so i can delete photo

The write protection is software controlled. An error in the header record of the media may prevent you from changing this value. Save all the photos onto your computer and try formatting the memory card with the camera. Do not format the card or delete photos in your computer using a card reader device as this may be how the error was introduced.
