From what I can gather from the manual, datestamping is done at the time of printing, using the stored EXIF date as K_Akima mentioned. See pp. 145-146 of the manual, "Setting the Printing Service (DPOF)", and make sure to press the green button on step 7 to have the date printed.

If you just download photos to your computer and print or email them, I don't believe there's an option for including the date in the photo itself.

For those who don't have the manual, it is available here as of April 2013: http://www.pentaximaging.com/support/download-details/336

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

If you set the date during Green mode is on, then it will be reset. Turn the Green mode off first, then set the date.

SOURCE: Remove Date Stamp

You can easily remove it with photo editing software such as Photoshop Elements. If the date is in a corner, you can also crop the picture so the date is left out.

Is there a way to change the settins to Time Stamp the photos on the Pentax W10?

The camera will not deface your photos by scrawling a string of numbers across them. However the date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. How to turn on date stamp on pentax option S5i?

The camera won't deface your photos by scrawling a string of numbers on them. Depending on the program and printer you use to print your photos, you can print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back. Please refer to the documentation for the program.

If you're printing directly from the camera, you can turn on the date stamp by checking the "Date" box as described in the "Setting the Printing Service" section in the camera manual (page106) in my copy.

I inadvertently programmed the date stamp on instead of off. Is there any way I can remove the date stamp from the photos that I have taken? The camera is a Pentax Optio 60.

The pixels behind the numbers are permanently lost. You can edit the photos just like any other photos, but it would be an edit, not a restoration. It's just like removing an unwanted person or signpost from a picture.

Where can I get Free software to download pics from cam ptio w10

You don't need any software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
