Roper washing machine does not fill for rinse cycle. Goes directly to rinse agitate without water.

Without Model number I am only guessing but I suspect you have a blocked sensing tube that travels from the Level selector switch to the side of the tub somewhere. It is possible for this plastic tube to become partially clogged and not allow trapped air to vent when tub is drained of water. Usually this problem manifests itself as an overflow of the tub. Check the full length of this clear hose and see if the end nearest the tub looks like it may have debris or dirty detergent clogging it.

This hose is pushed onto a nipple mounted to a reservoir on the side of the tub. Push a thin copper wire 4-5 inches into the those after removing from nipple and also down into the nipple an inch or two before reinstalling the hose to the nipple. You MIGHT even blow into the hose while you have it off and you SHOULD hear a clicking sound coming from the level selector switch body.

Good Luck. Come back with Model number under lid if that doesn't help.

My GE Front Load Washer (model WPXH214FWW) remains in the 'drain' cycle between the main wash and rinse cycles. It will only move to the next cycle if we manually advance the knob (slight turn)after which...

Before replacing the timer, check the cold water inlet. Rinses usually use cold water only. The screen inside the valve, right where the hose screws onto the machine, may be blocked. If not blocked, check the inlet valve solonoid coil to see if it is open and in need of replacement.

EWX14450 washer dryer. Drain works fine. Why is it overflowing?

Found the problem with mine that had identical symptoms... after taking the lid off. i took the pressure switch off the hose. blew on the pressure switch when filling and you can hear the 3 clicks. the machine resumed onto next phase. i blew down the hose and this was clear and bubbling into machine. but then i discovered half way down the hose - it was damaged and had a hole. presumably from the drum rubbing on the hose over many years. now just need too replace this and it should work fine.

Spin cycle not getting all water out

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

See the section for the basket and tub assembly's

I'd pull the cabinet in order to get to the hoses going to and from the pump first.

See the following:

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=131

Check that the hoses aren't blocked and, If the hoses are fine, check the shaft from the motor to the pump and check inside the pump to make sure the inlet and outlet aren't blocked.

The machine doesnt spin with clothes in it

Could be a blocked filter, or worn brushes in the motor.
To check filter, remove lower rear panel of washer.
Remove large black hose fastened to bottom of drum
Remove and clean filter inside trhe hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for obstruction or blockage here.
To check the carbons remove motor from washer, and the carbons are located at the oppsite end to the motor pulley.
Hope this helps.

No water is coming in, or just drips. Water is on to washer.

Take the hoses off and there is a screen there. The screen could be blocked. Take the hose off at the washer itself not at the shut-off valve. If that doesnt work then check water pressure with the hose disconnected and turn on the water shut off. If you have pressure and the screen is not blocked then it is your water inlet valves not working properly and they need to be replaced

Will click on, but won't start filling up with water

where the water hoses connect is called the water valve[you called it a pump]this is how it works.when electricity is present at the water valve, the valve coil opens up and lets the water in based on the water pressure from your house[just like when you open the kitchen sink facuet]now what happens sometimes is minerals will get into the water valve screens and block or plug them up,and then no water although you may hear a hum because the valve coils are energized.so what you do to check that is turn off your house water and remove the hoses at the washer, and look into the water valve, and you will see the screens.if blocked then remove with a small tool, clean, reshape the screen and reinstall.also flush your hoses into a bucket before reconnecting......now if that dosent fix your washer, you would next do a voltage check at the water valve.if you have voltage and not working then replace water valve.if no voltage when pushed botton for water then you may have computer board problems

It sound like you drain hose is siphoning off the rinse water, It needs a standpipe make sure the drain hose is at about the height of the top of the washer, Make sure the drain hose isnt stuck in the drain it also needs an air cap. the drain hose should not lay on the floor to run to the drain

Please let me know if this doesnt solve your problems

not sure about the f04 code but if its still full of water try putting the washer onto a drain cycle if the water does not drain then your pump is either blocked or faulty to check if its faulty pull the washer outnow take the drain hose and place into a bucket low to the floor if it comes straight out then the pump is faulty what it is is they have a magnectic part which goes down if the water doesnt come out its blocked you will have to take the washer outside tip it backwards but dont put it on its back now undue the sump hose which is situated in the centre of the drum pull it the water will drain out now undue the 2screws under the pump pull out undue the pipes you should see the blockedge if not could be in the drain hose itself m8 let me know how you go on if the pump needs replacing shouldnt cost no more than £20

check no kink in drain hose and if plumbed in unbder sink, check spigot into sink drain is not blocked. put drain hose lower down band check there is water coming out freely. if not, then suspect something trapped in hose from tub to pump
