Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hp_pavilion_tx1000 is slow what can i do to speed it up currently on vista

I would run PC Tools or Norton Utilities and run their Registry cleaner first followed by Defrag then clean your disk with Norton's Clean Your Disks or try Windows Clean up programme.
If your hard drive is very full, more than 80%, you really need a larger one to allow Windows to run with plenty of space.

I hope you find that of some use but I find that as more and more programmes and internet stuff are used the more clogged the system gets. Try putting a backup on a separate USB hard drive and then formatting your drive and reinstalling the system restoring the data you have kept.
Hope that helps.

I have recently changed to Windows Vista and can no longer download my photos from my A345 Finepix camera as the CD I have is only useable with Windows XP. Will you please let me know where I may get hold...

You don't need any special software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

My internal hard drive is recognised as removable???

Your problem is Vista. It is the pits and by far the worst modern OS, second only to Windows Me. (Millenium Edition).

You need to start at the beginning. Go into DOS, use FDISK to Format the Drive, Go to BIOS and Assign it as the main disk. Disconnect any other HDs if you have them. Reinstall Windows 7 Pro if you can find a copy.

However, did you try this?

How do I completely remove the WD Sync software so I can use my 500GB WD external hard drive for manual copy-and-paste

Assuming you are using XP, Vista, or 2000 you can format it as a NTFS drive. while a lt of folks do not like Vista, this is one area where it really shines.

Plug in your WD PASSPORT.

Bring up the START menu -> right click COMPUTER-> select MANAGE -> select STORAGE ->select DISK MANAGEMENT.

Find the dive -> select/highlight the WD PASSPORT -> right click and select FORMAT. make sure to format as an NTFS drive. Depending on the size of the drive this might take a while - so go have dinner and a movie.

I have a new acer desktop, pre installed vista premium. How do i set back to factory defaults to remove junk added by comet and how do i create a dvd so that i can re install vista at a later date if...

You will probably find that there is one hard drive, with two partitions on your notebook.

Normally Acer have a back up folder on drive 'D', which stores all the restore information, normally by pressing Alt & F10 on boot up starts the system recovery, with all programmes and operating system as if new, but check in your notebook manual, normally at the back for the recovery details.

To create a back up of your docs and settings, use the NTI DVD( normally installed on all Acer notebooks) back up or DVD maker to back up to a DVD, if you don't have that, use windows back up on accesories or system tools.

External hard drive

I'm not overly familiar with Vista yet, but I believe that you will have to delete these as administrator. Use the Vista help menu, you'll find it there. If it's a program file you will need to uninstall, versus delete, from the add/remove programs in the control panel.

Remove arrow from shortcut items

Hi,

If you are referring to the Shortcut overlay, there are several methods that can remove, replace or customized it.

In Windows XP:
Perhaps the easiest would be to download, install and configure using Tweak UI for XP ;

Alternately, edit your Registry. Expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. Highlight "lnkfile. Delete the Registry Value IsShortcut REG_SZ. Rebbot

In Windows Vista:
Probably the easiest would be to download, install and configure using Frameworkx’s Windows Vista Shortcut Overlay Remover .

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
