Furuno gps wiring diagram for usb

Hello!
I have the connection diagram for the GPS unit below.  It should be simple to wire up.  You will need a USB to RS-232 converter, which is available in a number of computer shops/Radio Shack.
Hope this helps you out,

Furuno GPS 30 Receiver

Hi,

When the GPS unit was wired in reversed, a number of the electronic components would be damaged. However, in most units (but not all), there is a component specifically made to sacrifice itself to go dead in such event(s) other than the fuse. The is often called the reverse protection diode. This would normally be connected right after the power entry point after the fuse. In some designs, it would be after the power ON/OFF switch. Should there be no such diode, then next in line to be the most likely culprits would be capacitors, transistors, ICs, other diodes (specially zeners). If the trouble is basically limited to power supply, familiarity with electronic components and circuitry, use of a DVM and a soldering iron should be sufficient to initiate diagnosis and repairs.

Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
