How do I get the web cam to come on? I got it where we can talk to each other but it says that the web cam is not located so what do I do?

I take it that you are talking about the onboard web cam the drivers for this are part of OS X system, apple have a good page for troubleshooting the web cam see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2090 see if it helps you.

if you are talking about a webcam. you need to have driver installed in your computer. usually the cam comes with a CD. which contains the driver for the camera. all you have to do is put it in the CD drive and just follow the instructions displayed and your cam will work perfectly.

This is not on your end but the end of the person you wish to converse with. Can you see them? if so your end is working. Talk them into redoing their cam software or have them learn how to use their web cam. I do not think it is on your end of the cam. John

Make sure that you plug in the Mic jack properly and it's working, you can test it using built-in sound recorder if you don't have any audio editor software. Try with different mic and see which one is the problem. Also your mic socket (onboard or ad-ons card) maybe the problem, so troubleshoot thoroughly and slowly. Good luck..
